We lace into the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro GTX Mid Trail Running Shoe for our winter and alpine strides. Easy to wear
I needed more ankle support because I’ll be walking outside on old cobblestone sidewalks.

Comfy and supportive shoes
A little wide so I wear thicker socks but overall great. I have not tried hiking in them as yet.

Hierro Mid
I really like my new shoes. Thanks for the warning about the shoes running small. I ordered a half size larger than usual and the fit is perfect. I do a great deal of walking, often on uneven ground, and these shoes are comfortable and supportive. I'm so glad I purchased them.

Those hooks are dangerous.
Those hooks are huge mistake on these shoes. My shoelace got stuck on the other shoe's hook while I was running and I fell like a ungraceful giraffe. My knee still hurts - 3 weeks later. When the deadly hooks are gone, the shoes would be perfect. This way it is seriously dangerous.

Nice Boots, but Run Small
These run small, so I ordered a half-size larger for my wife. While the length ended up perfect, she said that the toe box was a little tight. She opted to keep them.

Good mixed surface & uneven terrain shoes
I had another pair of these and wanted new ones. I pre-read reviews so ordered up 1/2 a size and they are great. The ankle is stiff, need to either work it around to soften or adjust as you lace so as not to pinch when brand new. I like the cushiness, but I also use inserts for really long days on mixed surfaces/terrains and this keeps my feet from getting tired. They are nice looking, kind of bright but fun. One thing, can anyone tell me why they have the little flat part stick out part at the back of the heel? I looked at these shoes on other sites (not outlet stores) and they also show this little flap like thing, so it does not seem to be a defect.

Comfy and work great!
Comfortable and kept my feet dry! Used for hiking and have had to step through full puddles of water, submerging my foot and an hour later my feet were still perfectly dry.
