Why We Like The Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot
No matter if the forecast calls for rainshowers or sunny skies, the Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot always gives us the traction, comfort, and protection we need as we navigate rough terrain. Like its predecessor, the Moab 3 is equipped with a waterproof and breathable membrane to keep our feet well defended against accidental puddle slips or light moisture. Plus, we appreciate that the Vibram TC5+ outsole provides unencumbered traction underfoot thanks to its 5mm lugs and multi-directional design.

Just OK
The fit is not as good as my old Merrels. One shoe seems slightly smaller than the other. Too soon to know how they will wear.

Trail and Urban environment approved!
Bought these for a Spring hiking in the Rockys and was not disappointed. They kept my feet warm, dry and comfortable while providing ankle and sole support. The tread had a great grip in muddy conditions and was practically self cleaning. Hardly any breakin was required and the Moab 3 served me well for numerous days on the trail and on the sidewalks.

Moabs continue to shine
These Moabs are a great hiking shoe, with out-of-the-box comfort and virtually no break-in. I’ve owned a few pair over the years and the Moab 3’s continue to impress. Being from AZ, I used to opt for the non-waterproof model, but after relocating to the PNW, I went for the waterproof (Merrell waterproof, not GTX). Took them out on a spring hike along a local river, got them plenty wet, but had no issues with wet feet. My wife needed some waterproof day-hikers, so we bought her a pair the next week.

Made to take a beating
Second pair of Merrell’s over the course of 25 plus years. This new pair will also be taken to the extreme outdoors for hunting, fishing, hiking and do it yourself projects at home.

Boot
Not really waterproof. Tung is too short to provide seal when laced up.

Moab
From the Red River Gorge in Kentucky to dozens of trails in the Great Smoky Mountains these boots have never let me down. They feel great right out of the box and on to the trail.

Love the Moabs
Great Comfortable hiker. My first pair of Moab’s lasted 3 years and over 600 miles. I recently did start to feel wetness come through the right toe and just last week caught my toe on a root and tore the front alittle. I bought the same pair about 3 weeks ago, but I’m still wearing the old ones. I’ll break out the new ones soon.

When they say MOAB, they’re not kidding!
Best boots ever! Rugged, grippy, stylish and ultra comfortable! If you don’t like these, you don’t like long lasting comfort on the trail or anywhere! I love ‘em! Perfect fit and ready to go right out of the box!
