We find peace standing at the top on an untouched backcountry line, so when we're packing our gear for the ascent, we look no further than the Nirvana 18L backpack. Before we leave the trailhead, we slide our avalanche safety equipment into the designated sleeve, toss some layers into the main compartment, and slip our trusty eye-wear into the soft-lined goggle pocket. As we trudge up the skin track, the EVA padded back panel, hip belt, and shoulder straps keep the load centered on our back and help limit fatigue. For the final push to the ridge, designated ski or snowboard carry straps keep our hands free to scramble up the steep slope.

Easy to carry backcountry gear
This backpack will make it easy to carry all the backcountry gear needed. It is slightly big for my 5 ft frame but will do the job.

Great for short tours!
Not the lightest pack you can get, but good quality and great features. If you are going on a non technical half day tour this is an awesome bag.

Great backpack for all uses.
I use this bag on my gravel bikepacking trips, day hikes, and as a personal item under the airplane seat in front of me jam-packed with clothes. I like the look and features of the Nirvanas better than the other Mammut bags.

perfect resort bag
Great bag for the resort and light side country. I have a hard time fitting everything i usually like to take for a day tour in this bag. On day 1 i broke one of the snowboard strap buckles. Tried locking the buckle after adjusting it and pushed the locking tab the wrong way, it was cold, felt like it snapped easily.

Awesome bag for snowsports
Perfect bag for all your avy gear and to carry your board or skis. For the resort days, keep your layers snacks, drinks, or another "important items" safe and easily accessible!

Great for day touring and ski patrolling
My avi tools fit perfectly including a 300 cm probe, all the first aid supplies that I need patrolling and an extra later. I do not notice the pack while skiing.

Comfortable but lacks some functionality
The Nirvana 18 is a very comfortable pack. I use it to carry extra goggles, gloves, some food, and store extra layers of clothing during downhill skiing. It is easy to cary all day, so if you're looking for something that feels minimal but has good storage, it's a good choice. I thought the inside (back) zipper would make accessing equipment easier, well, it's just not that easy. The zippers, almost all of them, aren't really easy to manage. They require both hands to work. All in all, It's OK, but I wouldn't say excellent.
