Make things easy on yourself.

Tying a rig while wading is a delicate, tedious task, and why would you risk a drop when you can prepare multiple setups ahead of time and easily switch them out? The Loon Outdoors Rigging Foam 3-Pack allows you to tie multi-fly setups in advance and keep them at your fingertips. When you need to change things up, simply remove one from its foam housing—that is exactly the same size as a tippet spool, so it's easy to attach to your gear—and re-rig your setup by tying just one knot.

  • Foam housing for pre-tied rigs
  • 3-pack lets you keep your options open
  • Same size as tippet spools for easy storage

Foam is Home

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love the convenience of these things. They save a ton of time when nymphing with multiple flies or fishing dry-dropper rigs. Tie up a few rigs ahead of time and spend more time fishing, less time tying. These are especially useful when you have a tippet ring tied to your leader (you should get some of those too).

essential kit for quick river trips

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I keep some fishing gear in my car for quick trips to my fav local section of river. With the rigging foam, I know I'll be dredging the depths or even hopper dropper in the fall, I'll pre rig and just book to the river with rod, real and a minimal kit. Maximizes my time on the water having to only tie one knot to my tippet ring to be re-rigged.

Change It Up

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have tried several other options out there to carry your pre-rigged setups and this one takes the cake so far! Others that I have tried have been far too bulky proprietary fly boxes or are not too protected and the flies end up getting tangled in other items buried in the fishing pack . Stand out feature of this one is how simple and effective it is, just add this onto your favorite tippet leash (Rising is the go to for me) and your change up rig is ready right in front of you and your flies are protected until then. Another great product from Loon, To take this setup to the next level, I recommend using tippet rings on the end of your leader and you can really change up your rig quick with one simple knot.

Pre rig

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

You don't want to waste time on the water rigging up, so put together a few options in advance. These are great and fit with any standard tippet spool. I tend to rig up a few dry-dropper setups and quickly transition on the river.
