Why We Like The Line Blade Ski

The Blade isn’t the typical freestyle ski Line is known for making—it’s an aggressive all-mountain charger built to carve trenches and blast down the frontside, as evidenced by its massive shovel and directional shape. Supporting that directional shape and bulldozer profile, Line added Titanal across the width of the ski and two additional independent pieces in the tip and tail to give it a powerful, predictable feel that won’t lose composure when you’re blasting through chopped crud or laying GS turns down the entire length of the mountain.

Stable Carver

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

If all you want to do is carve your way down the mountain and throw in a little shenanigan's these are your jam. Put these on edge and they do the work hammering through crud and ripping arcs. I do have some criticisms: The recommended mount point feels a few cm too far forward. These have a lot of tip rocker, if its hard pack the front 1/3 of the ski barely makes contact until you get on a high edge angle this combined with my first issue about the mount point makes the tails feel long when you are getting more edge contact on the back half the ski than the front. when you just want to bomb the end of the run the tails feel like they want to catch and hook if you try to run flat, they like to be on edge. The tips are also kind of soft so if you start to drive them too hard on softer snow at higher speeds things get weird. with so much side cut these really want to turn across the hill, on steeper terrain when you arent carving they want to make really fast turns across the hill and those soft tips come into play again. if I were buying them again I would size up. So if you want to carve on moderate cruisers in softer conditions these are a ton of fun, like cruising around with kids or slower more casual skiers they can make mellow boring trails a bit more fun. They will get you all over the mountain in mixed terrain and conditions but sometimes they let you know when you aren't doing what they like to do. great ski for surfing mashed potatoes. If you dont get a lot of soft snow days you might want to look for a narrower ski with more camber less rocker.
