Denali Testes
I got these for my Denali climb as a last minute replacement for another soft shell that bit the dust. I was nervous taking an unproven layer on such a big trip but the listed features were enough to give them a try. I got in one quick climb on Mt Hood with them where they were a bit warm but otherwise great. And who doesn’t want extra warmth when headed to Alaska? With the ankle zipper unzipped I was able to get them over my splitboard boots which few other soft shells are able to do. With that test they made the cut and I am sure glad they did. From the hot sunny days on the lower glacier to a cold and windy summit shot on the West Rib, these things only left my body to sleep. Great breathability, venting, and secure pockets. They were warm when I needed it with enough room to add a wool base layer under them and form fitting enough to easily add a hard shell or puffy layer over the top. The only design change I might make is to have build in suspender attachments so you don’t need a belt. Anyone who is climbing in a hardness for weeks on end will tell you having a belt under it isn’t optimal. But that is the only thing I’d change. The crampon guards did the trick when my crampons hit them but unfortunately I caught the soft fabric a few times and put holes in them. Still usable with some minor repairs. I’ll be getting another pair of them when the patching won’t work anymore. I’m 5’11”, 195 lbs, with a 34” waist and the large fit well with a good belt.

Fit well but cord broke!
The US-M/EU-L fit fine, but the elastic cord that tightens the leg gators broke as I was trying them on. I'm not sure if this is just a defective model, or will I need to worry about the same durability issues with the rest of the pant... I'll definitely be returning these.

Great pants for ski touring
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These pants have been perfect for ski touring. They have a light fleece backing to keep you warm, side vents for airflow. I would say the fit is maybe a little on the bigger/longer side, which is what I have found with all of the La Sportiva pants, so consider going a size smaller than you are used to.

Very pleased
I'm relatively new to La Sportiva. Only been using their gear for the past 3-4 years. In that time I am continually impressed with their products. I have used these pants for mountaineering mostly, I hope to get into alpine skiing this winter, and the occasional removal of snow from the driveway. They perform well. Material doesn't tear on snowshoe strikes, sneaky branches or what's lurking under the snow. Very pleased with them, so much so I have 3 pairs...they do offer more than one color.
