I got out for one spring mission on these skis but was immediately extremely pleased with them. On the Wyeast Face on Mt. Hood, we faced some surprisingly awful conditions instead of the corn we expected: Breakable crust, wilted wind slab, icy scour (plus some actual corn). I was nervous about how these skis would fare, because they're really lightweight. I had been rocking some BD Link 95s for several seasons, and those are about 100g heavier per ski and always felt flimsy to me. Meanwhile, my Moment Deathwish Tours are heavy AF but ski phenomenally - so I was wondering whether the weight of the ski was really the main thing. As it turns out, these skis handled the variable conditions heroically. They were totally skiable on the manky snow, and once we found some corn it was heaven. Absolutely buttery smooth, responsive, and intuitive. You need to drive these a touch, but I generally ski a pretty centered stance and had no trouble with them. From classic wide turns to more pivot-y maneuvering, they passed their first test for me with flying colors and skied *miles* better than the Link 95s despite being even lighter. Backcountry was super helpful on my order as I switched sizes after pulling the trigger. No regrets, 177 seems perfect for my height/weight/ski style.
