    Super cute but runs small

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: US 4/UK 8
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 115lbs

This jacket is adorable and a great length but it is really tight in the shoulders. I usually wear an XS in shirts and 0-2 in dresses. I ordered a size up(4) in this jacket and can barely fit a sweatshirt underneath; however, the bottom is super roomy. I will probably keep it due to there being no Size 6's on sale but it is a little disappointing.
For reference, I ordered the Grape Leaf Floral.

    Short sleeves

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: US6 then the 8
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 140lbs

Despite what many others have found I thought this jacket fit small through the shoulders. I ordered a size down based on recommendations and I could barely move my arms. I exchanged it for the larger size which was perfect except the sleeves were too short. I wish the sleeves fit like they do on the model but they were just too short. I am tall and thin so I was surprised.

    Great Rain Coat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 140lbs

This is a great, light/mid weight rain coat. Very well made and very comfortable. There do appear to be at least 2 versions of this coat. I first ordered a size down based on reviewers comments, but the coat was much too small. I really liked the quality, so decided to reorder in my normal size, the fit was perfect, but it was obvious there were differences in the design of the 2 coats.

Received a defective item; returned it.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 190lbs

Over all it's a good fit, except the lining is not stitched well with the outer shell., causing a slouch of extra material at the lower back (which makes it look like a pocket of air is not allowing it to stay flat). I kept yanking the back to straighten it out, but that would eventually cause it to rip/tare. I returned the item.

    Super Cute- Size down!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 10
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

I was searching for the perfect spring rain coat to go over dress clothes, and this has it all- only, it runs huge! I had to exchange the size 10 I purchased for a size 6. I'm usually a US size 8/10 with an hourglass or busty shape, so this does run large. The silhouette is actually more of a pear shape cut, or slightly A line. Cant wait for the mail to come!

May I ask which pattern coat you got? It seems that some of us are finding they fit really small and want to see if it's maybe different patterns. I love this coat so if one of the other patterns is made larger I would love to buy it. Thank you.

    Fit like a paper bag

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: US6/UK10
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 147lbs

I loved this online but not in person. It fit like a paper bag, and the zipper and cords were pink, not red as I'd expected. It's really well-made and I love the material -- a surprisingly soft cotton weave -- but it looked shapeless on me, and cinching the interior cord just made it look weird. It was also tight around the shoulders even though it was too baggy elsewhere. (I'm 5' 8" and nearly 150 pounds at the moment thank you very much stubborn baby weight. Ordered the US6/UK10.)

    Military update

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I have been in desperate need of a waterproof jacket that I could also wear casually in the city. Most of my waterproof shells are little to "tech" looking for everyday use. I am always a sucker for military-inspired jackets because they are timeless and anoraks are a particular favorite. The floral print is a nice touch, adds a little femininity to the unisex silhouette without going overboard. Another plus for me is the length, great for splashing around NYC and the hidden drawstring (sometimes I like to cinch it to give it a little more of an hourglass shape). Very happy with this piece!

    Love it!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large (UK 14)
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 155lbs

This is the raincoat to end all raincoats. It repels the rain like nobody's business and stays cute whilst doing it. If Zooey Deschanel were a raincoat, this would be her. Also, as an added bonus the pockets are generous -large enough to fit a cellphone, keys and pack of tissues- and the hood can fit a large afro (which I have). Success!

Now, I just need matching boots.....

    Rain rain....come and play!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: US2/UK6
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 112lbs

    This jacket is 100% waterproof.

    The end.

But really, I could stop this review right there, because that means NO water is going to sneak through and ruin your day...and what else do you need?

But let's talk about it some more, because the Raina Jacket has so many more bells and whistles. This jacket is made of cotton, so it's not like the shiny plastic raincoats of yesteryear. It moves WITH you and it actually it doesn't leave you baking in your own steam after an hour of wear. Between the polyurethane coating, taped seems, and a zipper AND snap closure down the front, there is no way any moisture is getting in. Mrs. Raina is just for rain--she's not lined for warmth--so if you're stepping out on an extra chilly day be sure to add a sweater.

    What I love:

-large pockets! perfect for cold fingers, phone, keys, all kinds of fun stuff.

-the length! very flattering and keeps the wind and rain off your derriere.

-the Raina Jacket is beautifully constructed. I have been so impressed with Joules--they make their clothing with care, and they make it to last. And so many fun and unexpected details on this jacket--the hot pink hood strings, striped lining, inside drawstring to cinch up the waist--Joules is the perfect pair of functional+fun.

There were just a few more things I was looking for to earn that 5th star. I'm a hood girl--I Iove a good hood--and a good hood is a BIG hood. This one covers my head just fine, but for a jacket that's made to keep the weather out, I want a hood that pops just a little bit over my forehead so the rain doesn't run right down my face. I also prefer a little bit more tailored look--I'm a pretty curve-less gal, so I really can use all the help I can get. The inside drawstring cinches up at the waist a little bit, but the shape still wasn't right for me. I'm 5'4" 112lbs, and wear the US2/UK6 (check the size chart if you're unsure of sizing.)

Joules is a new-to-me brand and I was so happy to team up with them and Backcountry for this review. They are a British company and they offer so many stylish and functional clothing options for all your outside play. This jacket pairs perfectly with any of Joules' cute wellies.

Would you be able to provide the armpit-to-armpit measurement for either the 4US or 6US? Thanks.
