Flow Evo+ Knee Pad
The iXS Flow Evo+ Knee Pad is as lightweight and flexible as possible, but without sacrificing critical impact protection when things take a turn for the worse on the trail. Legendary freerider and trials rider Hans Rey helped develop this set of lightweight, ultra-flexible pads to withstand the rigors of all-day epics high in the mountains and afternoon hot laps around your local trail network alike.
The secret to its flexible design lies within the X-Matter protective foam, which is comprised of viscoelastic polymer that absorbs nasty impacts without restricting your range of motion while pedaling. This flexible padding is removable, so you can toss these pads in the wash without ruining them after a long, sweaty ride in the mountains. Additionally, you'll find it's constructed of lightweight Aeromesh that breathes well and wicks moisture to prevent overheating on those hot summer trail rides.

I tried multiple knee pads and this is the first one that I like. the valcro is at the bottom of the knee pad hence it does not ruin the riding shorts. And it does NOT scratch i any means. I am a petite person and I 5.5 and took the Large.

Comfort and Protection
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Did lots of research before buying knee pads. Initially went with Fox Launch Pros for the extra protection, but had to return them after experiencing unacceptable chafing behind the upper knee area. The iXS pads were a little more costly but well worth it. The lower strap holds them in place well, and the mesh backing has a comfortable and secure feel. I read reviews saying the mesh was not heavy duty and could be torn by using it to pull on the pads, and I can see that, but pulling them up from the bottom works well and eliminates abusing the mesh. No problem!

Comfortable!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
If you dig these tight on your knees then these are for you. Stiff and solid, feel like these will really protect me if I take a spill. Haven't had the chance to test these with fall, but I'm feeling safe in them so far.

Nice, but a tad stiffer than expected.
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Bought these in medium and ended up returning them, as they were a bit stiffer than I expected. Now, don't get me wrong, they're still easy to pedal in, but I'm just seeking more of a minimalist/XC-style knee pad that's much thinner and even easier to bend. I might have to look for more of a knee sleeve with just a touch of padding, but these would do the trick for all-mountain and enduro riders.
