The ISM PN 1.1 features an extra narrow, 110mm rear width to provide riders of all types with a variety of positioning options out on the road. This profile allows you to scoot back on the saddle to tackle a climb, perch on the nose to power through a flat section, and change positions as needed without any worries related to thigh and hamstring clearance. The result is less chafing, less numbness, and more fun on every ride.

I was choosing between this and and the PN 3.0 model. Because I was unsure about the concept, I chose the less expensive option. Dunno if it was the right choice, but I love it and will likely buy another (perhaps the 3.0 model). It did take a little time to adjust but less than anticipated. First thing I noticed was that I spent much more time in the drops! Not a conscious thing, it just happened. Related to that, I started riding with my pelvis tilted forward which made the aero position more comfortable for my old arthritic spine as well as allowing my to push down more power. The contact points are different so it took a few longer rides to adapt, but the absence of numbness to an organ which should NOT be numb was very welcome on long rides!

This seat completely changed my riding experience. After 4 years of racing, countless saddle sores & bike discomfort I was genuinely ready to throw in the towel on ever finding a comfortable seat. I was tired of throwing money at the problem and had resolved to suck it up. This was a last ditch effort that actually worked. No numbness, significantly less chafing and no saddle sores after 300+ miles ridden. Cannot recomendable highly enough. Setup was easier than advertised and surprisingly plush/comfortable given its odd shape. Have found it superb for TT efforts and riding in the drops. Equal comfort climbing to boot. Safe to say a second ISM chair is on the way! Call me a convert.
