Why We Like The Rush Windbreaker

Like the name implies, the Icebreaker Women's Rush Windbreaker is a great tool to have on you when you're in a hurry. This lightweight wind jacket uses a nylon face for protection from light weather, whether it threatens to disrupt your hike or your trail run, and it packs down nice and small into its own hand pocket for easy stashing when the skies clear. A quick-drying mesh lining helps wick away moisture on the go, with wool for temperature regulation and odor-resistant protection. Laser cut holes at the underarms and along the back offer ventilation, so you can keep going at the same pace as before without overheating, and the reflective center zip comes in handy for late evening runs in the city.

windbreaker gift

I bought this jacket as a present but its design is quite straight with little accommodation for the female shape. Even the XL was loose on the waist and tight across the hips and chest - probably ok in smaller sizes but in XL would expect to fit some curves. Nice material and good quality as expected.

Great for Fall/Spring Running

The merino lining is this jacket makes it a great wet/chilly weather running jacket! I purchased the light blue in a Medium, and it fits my 5'7", 135lb athletic frame well. I would recommend sizing up if you prefer a looser fit for your outerwear. It is comfortable and does exactly what it should- keeps the wind and rain off while remaining breathable. The only negative I can find is that the outer fabric swishes fairly loudly, but once you get used to it, it's fine.

Rush Windbreaker

I bought this jacket for use on WCT in June, but as it is only March, I wanted to give it a try. I used it while snowshoeing (going downhill/no wind/1C). I found it to be comfortable & warmer than I expected - but a pleasant surprise. I ordered a medium size - which normally has plenty of room for me, but I found this to be a bit snug across the chest (I am not busty), wearing only a thin base layer beneath). I am happy I found this item on clearance as it is my first piece of Icebreaker wear.

Perfect late winter early spring

This jacket is the perfect layer, it really protects from the wind and feels great with the wool inside. Definitely runs a little small though but I ordered a medium based on reviews and icebreaker sizing tool. I normally wear a small. I will get a lot of use out of this, love Icebreaker.

Perfect!

I love my new coat! Fit perfectly! Can wait to my trip in Compostelle to use it! So light will fit perfectly in my back pack.

Great travel jacket

This jacket is perfectly fitting my requirement for a light weight travel jacket. Been tested for wind resistance, light showers & easy to pack. The medium fits me well as an Aus size 10-12 who is short waisted. Given I purchased it at half price, it was excellent value, but as I have been so impressed with it, I would say full price is not unreasonable for a quality product.

So nice to wear

This is perfect for when you want gentle warmth and wind protection at the same time. For me it replaces the need for 2 items of clothing, a warmth layer and a wind proof layer, in a single, super light and breathable jacket. I love it!

Run, wick, breathe

This has become my go-to jacket when I need some warmth but don’t want to get overheated. The breathability is great for a jacket that repels moisture and I love the comfortable fit and zippered pockets.

Too small

Fit OK around the chest but tight around the bottom. I'm a size 12 and returned a Medium as riding up to waist. Otherwise looked like a useful jacket, but recommended sizing up.

Lightweight but warm

I have the gilet version of this jacket and found it excellent in the most miserable of weather's. For example I attended a 'winter skills weekend' in Scotland during Storm Dennis but wearing my Rab goretex jacket with vthe gilet over an icebreaker camisole and a merino mid layer I was comfortable, able to move freely and most importantly warm. This positive experience made me want to buy the jacket and it has not disappointed.
