I was given a Hyperice Venom Heated Vibration Back Wrap by Backcounty, but this review is my personal opinion. I’ve used the device for three weeks now, and I have been really impressed by the way it has helped my recovery during an intense training block. For context, I am a trail runner/mountain biker, and long (50K plus events are my preference). I run more than ride these days because I’m getting ready for Eastern States 100 in August. I’ve been running 60 plus miles a week with a fair bit of climbing. I also spend 4-5 hours a week riding my bike either solo on trails or with the family. It all amounts to a lot of wear and tear on my back, core, and legs. I was excited to get a chance to try out the Hyperice Venom Heated Vibration Back Wrap, and I have been impressed by how much it has improved my recovery. The amount of time I spend each week running and on the bike has led to sore core muscles and tightness in my hips. Using the Venom has made a huge difference. The Velcro closure is strong, and it is easy to wrap it around the lower back. The wrap is stretchy, so I have also found that I can use it to warm/massage my IT bands, quads, and calves by just wrapping those areas. The Venom has three different heat settings, and three settings for vibration. Battery life is solid, and charging is easy. It heats quickly, and the vibration is strong- but not loud. I’ve noticed the combination of heat and massage has gone a long way towards soothing my muscles and preparing for workouts and stretching. While it is certainly intended to focus on the back, I have found it to be a versatile recovery tool for my legs as well. I highly recommend the Venom for anyone who is looking to take care of their muscles. I’ve really noticed the difference since I started using it.
