Why We Like The Hoka Anacapa Breeze Mid Hiking Shoe
Building upon the success of the original, the new Anacapa Breeze Mid brings more ventilation and a more eco-friendly construction to Hoka's signature day hiking boot. This lightweight hiker now features highly ventilated mesh uppers for a more comfortable microclimate when hiking in the heat—along with Hoka's super-cushy midsoles for balanced cushioning and comfort on the trail. Soft nubuck leather adds some durability and protection while the shoe is mostly made with rPET derived from recycled bottles to reduce waste and consumption of virgin petroleum. It's a comfortable pick for deserts and hot weather hikes where we want a little "breeze" to keep our feet from overheating as we charge up switchbacks or hike fast and light on our favorite, after-work trails.

Squeak Squeak Every Step of the Way
I had to exchange these boots previously because Hoka sent the wrong size. I normally wear a 9 but purchased 8.5 because normally the toe bed is wide enough. However, these boots fit differently compared to the Hoka Kaha 2 GTX. I believe the toe bed is on the narrow side in these boots and I don't know what it is, but these boots squeak when I walk after only wearing them 4x! The color is true to the description but not impressed with the comfort or the squeak. You cannot tactically enter a room in these boots!

Cute but ruined within 1 use!
I really wanted to love these because they are quite stylish! I had planned to wear them on a backpacking trip this summer, but it seems to not work out for me. I tried them out for the first time on a walk around the neighborhood to a local trail. The trail was paved rather nicely with little to no rocks. I was surprised when I got back home and saw that the scratches on the side of the shoe because the vibram was not durable enough. Given I "babied" these to make sure they don't get dirty the first time around, and it still didn't hold up, I am not impressed at all. These definitely wouldn't last on a hiking day trip, and most definitely wouldn't be durable enough for a backpacking trip with rough terrains. Sadly, I will be returning these ): Hoka, you got my hopes up because I was excited to find a stylish, breathable hiking shoe/boot!

Great ankle support, comfortable right out of the box!!
I currently have a torn ligament in my ankle and severe arthritis in the same ankle at 45 so I needed something with decent support for an upcoming vacation in the mountains. I've been wearing these around the house to break them in but they honestly just feel like supportive tennis shoes: not too heavy, not too stiff, just the right amount of support. So happy with this purchase!

I my HOKA hiking shoes
So so comfortable! Very true to size an amazing right out of the box. My only complaint is that the shoelaces were not long enough for me. I'd like to double knot my shoes. I love the color.

I AM flying! Balanced with comfort and protection!
I am an avid day hiker, 10-13 miles at a time up and down mountains with LOTS of rocks! I didn't know that there was such a great difference between hiking boots. I thought my LLBeans were great, they were light, flexible and comfortable. Then I got these.....WOW!! What an amazing difference!! They are light, flexible and comfortable too but they are also so well designed to support your feet & ankles and there is so much cushion to the soles that it protects your feet from feeling the rocks!! The wide sole at the heal is fantastic for stability and balance. They almost have a "spring" affect to them that makes me feel like I AM flying over all the rocks! Thinking of getting a second pair so I don't wear these out too quickly.

Won't buy again
These are good for ankle support but the insides are not cushioned so for those standing on feet for 8 hours I wouldn't recommend..I'll have to try other ones to see how they feel.

Awesome fit, photograph beware
I got this pair in the dune colorway. In terms of fit they're fanatic, if you're looking to hike in warmer climates I totally recommend them. However watch out! The photograph shows a deep brown and warm grey color scheme, in real life it's almost a monochromatic gray/purple. Avoid if you're expecting them to be warm toned

So comfortable
I hike/walk in the woods daily. After suffering a broken foot it was difficult finding a hiking boot that did not hurt my foot. This one is fantastic!

Please Make This Color a Permanent Choice!
I loved these boots so much, I ordered a second pair! I was afraid you'd discontinue the color. I purchased these for summer hiking, since they have the breathable mesh. I also work a part time job that requires boots and we walk on a lot of asphalt and concrete, so I ordered a second pair!!! They have excellent lugs for good grip and keep my feet cool and comfy!!!

Blister causing
My husband got me these and I wanted so badly to love them but after trying them many times, they give me terrible blisters every time. They're so sheer and tight that you have to wear a very specific sock (more like a liner) with them or they'll force your sock seam to cut your foot. They're light but they're a little too bendable. They just don't have the support or comfort of a standard hiking boot.
