    Made for the burliest conditions.

The result of a collaboration between Hestra and working mountain guides, the Heli OutDry Glove is built to meet the demands of serious skiers in the most demanding conditions. The Army Leather palm will resist wear when you're handling rope and gear. The reinforced Wolf Paw fingertips won't be splitting at the seams anytime soon, and with a windproof polyamide fabric at the back, you won't get a cold breeze coming through on exceptionally windy days. A waterproof insert seals out moisture on the deep days, and a removable merino wool fleece lining piles on the warmth once the temperatures drop.

    Very durable, great features

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are very nice, very durable gloves with completely removeable liners. My only real “complaint” if could call it that, is that the gauntlet is just a tad shorter than I prefer. Another inch or two or so of length would have been great for ensuring a good seal on cold, snowy days when gloves come on and off for taking pics or getting in pockets.

The removeable liners allowed me to swap liners depending on temperature of that particularly day. I never had an issue with moisture, but the gloves are not quite as warm as the Powder Pipeline gloves they replaced in my bag. Perhaps because my hands are right between the 11/12, the 11’s are just a tad snug on me—and therefore not quite as warm—when using the thicker wool liners they came with. I actually found my warmest combination was a slightly thinner wool glove liner with a handwarmer pocket on the back of the hand.

Overall, terrific gloves. The only thing that would make them better for me is a slightly longer gauntlet.

    Awesome gloves--well thought out

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like these gloves. Lots of handy features: liners that can be removed, pull cord to tighten the top of the cuff/gauntlet, velcro straps to tighten around wrist, and the CRITICAL wrist straps/cords for when you take the glove off on the hill or lift and you don't have to worry about the falling. They also have a nice little carabiner to attach the gloves to a pack or pretty much anything else you want to attach them too. I also really like the gauntlet style of this glove and its easy to fit a jacket cuff under or over the gauntlet depending on the way you prefer.

    Buy them!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Have tried out a few Hestra gloves and have loved every single one. The lining is super soft and they will not let your hands get cold!

    Well-made and versatile

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these for winter/spring skiing in the wet, warm Pacific Northwest, and they're exactly what I was looking for. I wore the shells yesterday (with liners removed) with the air temp just above freezing and precipitation going from rain to snow and back, and they kept my hands warm and dry all day without getting too hot and sweaty. The kangaroo leather reinforcement is apparently not pre-treated, as it soaked through, but this didn't cause any problems. The goathide part stayed pretty dry except for my fingertips, which soaked up a little bit of water. They also stood up well to a rope tow that tends to shred my other gloves, with just the slightest marking visible on the goat leather. Everything feels really solid and well thought-out, and the fit is great!
