Made for the burliest conditions.
The result of a collaboration between Hestra and working mountain guides, the Heli OutDry Glove is built to meet the demands of serious skiers in the most demanding conditions. The Army Leather palm will resist wear when you're handling rope and gear. The reinforced Wolf Paw fingertips won't be splitting at the seams anytime soon, and with a windproof polyamide fabric at the back, you won't get a cold breeze coming through on exceptionally windy days. A waterproof insert seals out moisture on the deep days, and a removable merino wool fleece lining piles on the warmth once the temperatures drop.

Well-made and versatile
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these for winter/spring skiing in the wet, warm Pacific Northwest, and they're exactly what I was looking for. I wore the shells yesterday (with liners removed) with the air temp just above freezing and precipitation going from rain to snow and back, and they kept my hands warm and dry all day without getting too hot and sweaty. The kangaroo leather reinforcement is apparently not pre-treated, as it soaked through, but this didn't cause any problems. The goathide part stayed pretty dry except for my fingertips, which soaked up a little bit of water. They also stood up well to a rope tow that tends to shred my other gloves, with just the slightest marking visible on the goat leather. Everything feels really solid and well thought-out, and the fit is great!
