Crown2 60L Backpack
The Appalachian Trail serves up a lot of miles to walk, and if you have a heavy pack, some of those miles are going to be difficult. Instead of suffering with the weight of a heavy pack on a multi-day adventure, shoulder Granite Gear's Crown2 60L Backpack and move quickly over long, demanding trails.
At 2lb 3oz, the Crown2 won't be holding you back much, and if you need to make the pack even lighter, the top bucket and internal frame sheet are removable, so it's possible to get the backpack down to 1lb 11oz. And for those who repeatedly have trouble finding a pack that fits, the Crown2 has Granite Gear's Re-Fit hip belt, which easily adjusts to various body sizes, so the pack's hip belt can still cinch down to fit your body when you lose ten pounds hiking the AT.

I have only used twice for day trips... to test out for a longer overnight. There isn't anything flawed about the pack, but I'm far from wowed. It doesn't have any secure or zipped pockets inside for things like car keys and identification. It does have pockets around the waist, but I am in and out of them too frequently to want to risk losing my keys or id. Also there are lots of thin straps kind of dangling all over the place. It just seems a little flimsy and the straps tighten and loosen almost too easily. The side pockets for water bottles or other items are secured by thin straps and not by a pull cord that can be cinched that I'm used to... not my preference I guess. I didn't pay full price for this and if I had I would return it. Again, it really is a preference thing for me. Maybe where it lacks (for me) may be made up for in durability. I read the reviews and was super excited to receive this pack. So far it has fallen a bit short of my expectations. I'll update my review once I have had some more hikes with the backpack

I've used this pack on two backpacking trips now, and I love this pack. As a petite person , I love the variety of sizes this pack comes in (I got the Short) and the adjustable hip belt. The side pockets are great - large, elastic and adjustable, and I can reach my water bottle with the pack on (which is surprisingly not always the case with a lot of packs). I like the stretchy large front pocket too. The hip belt pockets can fit a phone, but I still wish they were a bit bigger. I can fit two snacks in one pocket and my phone in the other, but it does require some jamming it in. It has a really good volume size (60L) and feels really sturdy with a BV450, tent, sleeping setup, clothes, food and water (total weight was about 26 lb). I haven't tried it in the upper weight capacity (I think they say max 35 lbs), and intend to try to keep my pack weight in the 20-28 lb range anyway. Compared to

Awesome pack!

This is my first "high end" pack. I have a friend that praises his GG pack. So when this one went on sale just before Christmas, I jumped at the chance to get it. Couldn't be happier! Super lightweight. Very durable. I have only used it once for a 9 mile hike. I love the fit and adjustability of this pack. All of my gear weighed in around 25lbs and this ack had no problem with it. I highly recommend it!

So light!

For how much this pack can hold, I'm amazed with how durable and light it is. I love how simple it is too. Just one big 'ol pocket to store everything in, as well as some mesh pockets on the outside, and the brain up top. The straps on the outside all make sense and the frame on the back is superb! Another great pack from a great company!

Light, Simple, Great
- Familiarity:

This is a nice UL pack. You can even remove the brain, spine, waist belt and more to make it EVEN LIGHTER which is pretty sweet! However, that does mean that you can't really put too much gear into it. I'd say the limit is around 40 lbs total before the bag starts to sag and get uncomfortable. If you can keep it under that weight (which if you get this bag you should be going the ultralight path anyway) its super comfy, light and great! My only issue is that it does not have access to the bottom of the bag, the only opening is in the top. Over all, sweet bag and I love it.

Bought this for hunting pigs in the north Georgia mountains. Wanted something light and compact while still being able to carry a moderate load. Lots of options out there but none have subtle colors. Only issue is odor management, but if you're just hiking it shouldn't be that big of an issue

Great Pack

This pack has been a new experience for me. It carries loads far more comfortably than my older frame backs. At least at the suggested load range of 35lbs. At 60 it has been helpful to discover light and ultralight gear. Strongly suggest this pack do to value and quality. I would give it 6 stars if I could!!

Great pack for short or longer trips

I spent a lot of time looking for a decent pack that I could take on a multi-day camping trip for a reasonable price. I found this one and it is amazing. Lots of pockets and straps. It is great quality. I've taken it on a few camp outs and it's still like new. You can easily attach a sleeping bag to the outside on the bottom. It has a lot of great features. I would recommend it to anyone!

Crown 2
The Vapor Current mark 2 compression molded polypropelene frame sheet has molded reinforcement channels and die-cut holes to minimize weight, without sacrificing structural integrity. The frame works in combination with the molded foam back panel with ventilation channels and durable laminated mesh to assist in the ventilation of heat and moisture, without shifting the pack's center of gravity away from your back. The patent-pending, fully adjustable RE-FIT hip belt make achieving a custom hip belt fit easy! For added volume and organization, the Crown2 60 comes with a fully removable zippered lid, designed specifically for use on this pack.

Is this versatile enough to also use as a daypack? Or is it too big?
