We like strapping Goal Zero's Nomad 10 Solar Panel to the back of our backpacks so it can charge power banks while we hike to our backpacking destination. Once we reach camp, we can set the Nomad's kickstand up to face the sun directly and keep on charging. Goal Zero redesigned this small, light, portable solar panel for a more seamless solar charging experience. A simple USB port can charge our power banks by simply clicking in, and it can also skip the battery and charge our phones, headlamps, lanterns, and GPS direclty. It's also ruggedly durable to last for many backpacking trips to come.

I've pulled a max of 3 watts in Direct sunlight
How much to say about I'm gonna either got a faultimately. I'm not using it right, but I can leave it in direct sunlight. And I can pull a max of 3 W and it'll slow charge of my phone. I've tried different cables for my phone and stinstead of being able to pull out 3watts or none at all.

Great Solar Panel Charger!
I went backpacking to Desolation Wilderness for five days with my Nomad 10 solar panel. The solar panel did wonders for me on the trail. I did not have any problems charging my iPhone 14 Pro Max. It works best to leave it facing the sun for about 30 minutes while charging your phone. If you are trying to charge your phone while moving on the trail, the solar panel did not charge my phone as fast as I wanted to. It was super slow. After hiking for hours, the charge on my phone barely moved past 10 percent. It was incredibly slow. I figured the best thing is to charge my phone only when I take breaks on the trail. It performed much better.

Awesome charger!!
I will admit I was extremely skeptical after reading the 1 star reviews stating that the charger wont stand on its own without folding closed. I purchased anyway to see for myself and I will tell you that if you simply fold it gently backwards a little and for lack of a better term, brake it in, its stands perfectly on its own and does NOT fold closed. I have not tested it to see how long it takes to charge from 0% to fully charged but it did start charging immediately and with a 2A output I don't expect a long charge cycle.

Nomad 10 Solar Panel
We had a power outage in 2020 because of a Derecho. It was difficult to charge our phones to keep in touch with family. Now we can with solar GoalZero.

Nomad 10 Solar Panel
Awesome little solar panel! Took it backpacking on a 4 day trip on the PCT this Summer, definitely worth the weight to be able to charge my camera + phone batteries out there and lighter than a battery pack.

Do you need to turn it on after charging it? I've left it in the sun for three full days and it won't power anything at all.

What is the recommended setup if I want to be able to charge my electronics like iPhone, Garmin InReach? Should I use the Nomad 10 to charge a battery then use the battery to charge my electronics? Or can I just plug me electronics directly into my Nomad?

How waterproof / weatherproof is this? Can I use it in a "permanent" outdoors placement? I want to charge a power bank and use that to charge a security camera (which has to work at night as well, so I can't just plug the panel directly into the camera).
