AV Full Insulated Tight
The weather could care less what your training plans look like, so when it things take a turn for the especially unpleasant, think wind and frozen rain, reach into your winter wardrobe and pull out the AV Full Insulated Tight and prepare to take on whatever Mother Nature dishes out. Specifically designed to help you stay dry and insulated in cold weather, Giordana constructs the tight from its renowned Roubaix fabric and its cut in a form-fitting, cycling-specific silhouette that feels just right when in the saddle and reaching for the bars. It's also exceptionally stretchy and sits close to the skin with its soft brushed finish, enveloping your hard working muscles with body heat while managing moisture and maintaining breathability so you don't overheat. Even the bib straps receive Super Roubaix-like material for maximum heat retention to keep your core toasty. At the front of the tight, an internal lining improves its wind resistance which is especially helpful during blustery conditions.
On top of the Roubaix material is a Blizzard AquaZero exterior that's infused with a water-resistant Acqua Zero Eco treatment, helping to repel precipitation and wind as you ride letting the Roubaix material continue to insulate, even if a sudden storm or soaked roads try to hamper your forward progress. What really impresses us about the tight is its ability to keep us warm on the coldest starts while still offering temperature management as the day warms up or when hitting the climbs and descents. And while cold, rainy days are usually accompanied by reduced lighting, thankfully Giordana employs its highly reflective Pixel panels along the lower legs to help improve visibility as a spinning movement should help to capture the attention of motorists and if that’s not enough, additional reflective logos on the side of both legs should help too. Zippered cuffs make getting dressed and undressed a simple endeavor even when donning thick, winter socks, and Giordana's capable Cirro S Chamois adds anatomically correct support and breathable cushioning as you log mileage during those character-building months that will pay dividends when the racing begins.

Not warm enough
- I've used it several times
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 6` 3"
- 225 lbs
I normally wear a size 2XL in Giordana bibs and bib tights, and these fit true to Giordana sizing, which is smaller than US sizing, so I size up one size for bibs. I'm 6' 3" with a 36" waist and the legs are plenty long enough with some room for articulation in the knees. Giordana told me that these are their warmest bib tights. Unfortunately, I find that in temperatures below 47 F my legs start getting cold. The tights are just too thin. I have an older pair of Silverline bib tights, and they are just as warm as the AV Full Windfront bib tights. Similar to how rain paints may be windproof, rain pants won't keep you warm in cold weather. In my opinion, Giordana did not add enough insulation to these bib tights. I tried wearing leg warmers underneath the bib tights, and fitting the bibs over the leg warmers wasn't difficult, but I felt articulation in the knees was compromised. For me, the best temperature range for these bib tights is 47-57 F. I'll keep looking for a bib tight that works in the temperature range 35-45 F. Despite the shortcomings noted above, these bib tights are the typical excellent quality product you expect from Giordana.

no need to buy this year‘s version!
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 6` 1"
- 220 lbs
I called Giordana and I was told that they have not significantly changed his product in the last three years. THEREFORE SAVE THE $150 and buy last year’s version! I am 6’1” and 220 lbs. The XL fits fine. I took it for a 25 mile ride today. 25° and 15° with the windchill. I was truly impressed about how warm I was at the knees and throughout most of my body. The reason I did not give it five stars is because when climbing, and standing up, there was coldness above the crotch and below the belly button. The fabric is much thinner there. Nevertheless, they were warmer than my Assos Fugu bib tights that cost MUCH MORE. Very happy with this purchase!
