Bringing a more forgiving feel, the Flow 2024 NX2 Fusion Snowboard Binding retains most of the same features of its big brother, with the main difference being replacing the carbon and aluminum highback found on the GT with a somewhat more playful glass-filled nylon highback. The result is a stiff binding that we still use to charge big mountains with the best of them but with a bit more flexibility for playing in powder and taking the occasional park lap.

This binding feels great. The rear entry system is much improved from Flow’s earlier versions. Problem is the snap locks on their new bindings use a double mound system. Two mounds on the lever and two mounds on the high back. They do not lock into place and feel as secure as you should expect. Especially from a $400 binding. I think it is a major design flaw and or lazy design. I had these mounds wear down on the high back and they never lock in properly. I have slipped out of either of the high backs 3 times now and had to buy straps to keep them in the upright position so I didn’t slip out and break my leg. Which in turn defeats the purpose of a step in/quick entry binding. They feel fantastic and perform great when locked in but are you going to take a chance on injury to save a few seconds? I wouldn’t. Oh and by the way I contacted flow customer service to have the high backs replaced. I sent them high quality close up photos taken on an iPhone 15 pro of the high back wear and tear and they just gave me the run around instead of just sending me replacements. While they were in their warranty period. If you’re reading this then maybe I can persuade you to take more interest in a traditional binding until flow finds a better locking mechanism and better customer service.
