Dictator 2.0 Ski
When winter hits there's nothing you love more than charging at Mach 10 speed down some steep groomers. Except for maybe ducking and dodging trees while you blast through fresh snow, then popping back on the trail to charge at Mach 10 speed down some steep groomers. Okay, you love pretty much everything, which is why the versatile Faction Dictator 2.0 Ski is right up your ally. Its 95mm waist width can rip down corduroy cruisers with lots of control, and isn't so thin that it can't hang when the snow starts to fall. Especially not with a rockered tip and Faction's Surf Zone technology helping you float through knee-deep powder lines. You've also got a camber underfoot and a slightly rockered flat-tail design for better edge control, so whether you're arching huge turns or cutting it tight down steep slopes you've got a pair of skis that won't quit on you.
A full sidewall construction ensures ultimate durability over time so you can bump up against roots and rocks without fear, while a Fusion Lite core of paulownia and poplar wood keeps things light and responsive. You've also got dual titanal layers that dampen vibrations when you're cutting turns at high speeds, giving you a smooth ride everywhere on the mountain. It also comes equipped with a skin clip and boasts a backcountry-friendly weight, ensuring that even dedicated backcountry enthusiasts will find something to love in this all-mountain ski.

The Dictator's are a great ski for many different conditions. Surprisingly light weight in the 2.0 version while still having a full sidewall, a full metal laminate layer, and a responsive wood core is impressive. These elements give the 2.0 size a light and playful feel without the ski chatter that often comes with a surfy ski. The rocker camber rocker shape feels planted and touring focused but it can still get loose to slash turns with a bit of force. The low rocker design planes really well through soft snow and give a very comfortable glide for both touring and traversing. You can mount this ski at the factory recommended position or you can push the bindings a little further forward for a more balanced feel. As i mentioned previously the touring shape of this ski with longer rockered nose and shorter planted tail with a tail notch is a tested design but with the fun faction flavor that makes this brand so popular. If you want a really nice touring ski but don't want to pay the 4 figure price tag that comes with many of the lightweight carbon fiber touring skis these are an excellent choice.
I normally don't like this touring ski shapes but these Dictator 2.0's are some of the best skis i have ridden this year.
Amazing all mountain ski for East coast

I'll be up front that I had a hookup who gave me these on a steep discount. Having skied them for about 6 days now, I would gladly have paid full price. I bought these to replace my 2013 Line Prophet 98's that had 100+ days. The Faction Dictators are a HUGE improvement over the prophets in all types of conditions. I generally get 20-25 days in VT plus one trip out west each year. I'm an advanced skier, but not quite an expert. Please consider all of this while reading my review because your experience with these skis will differ.
New England skiing is a tale of feast or famine. Already in this young 2018-19 winter season, I have skied a tracked powder day, spring-like mashed potatoes, man made slop and glacial ice pack. These skis take it all on. Like. A. Champ. The edge hold is a huge improvement over my prophets on ice and hard pack. No, it's not as good a slalom race ski, but good enough to maintain control at speed.
My favorite thing about the Dictators is the progressive flex. The tip rides over bumps smoothly, but is stiff enough under foot to rip down groomers. This ski is surprisingly light too! I think they are 1/2 lb. lighter per pair than my old Prophets.
I mounted these with Salomon STH2's, but kinda wish I mounted my brand new Salomon Shift touring bindings on them (they went on my powder skis). These skis are so good at everything and light enough you can do single day touring and crush whatever the conditions may be.
I'm a big believer in the Faction brand now and hope they keep this line of skis alive for when these need replacement in a few years.
