Cho Oyu Ski
Out of Stock
Don't worry though, we have a lot more Alpine Touring Skis in stock than that.
Shop Similar ProductsThe alpine is calling.
Let's start with the obvious—the Dynafit Cho Oyu Ski looks like a relative fatty, and at 88mm underfoot with a wide, tapered shovel and Scoop Rocker, it is plenty comfortable in deep snow. The not-so-obvious? Despite its size, the Cho Oyu weighs just about 2.5lbs per ski, making it an obvious call when you're planning on encountering powdery conditions on long, high-alpine, or multi-day tours and expeditions. Dynafit built it with plenty of tricks to help it handle the deep—in addition to the size and Scoop Rocker, there's a raised pintail for extra control and flotation. Dynafit stayed true to its lightweight heritage by building the Cho Oyu on a featherweight paulownia wood core, including a carbon speed stringer for extra stability and a carbon 3D Flex Tip to reduce vibration and ensure a smooth, buttery ride, even in choppy snow.
You're bound to encounter variable conditions up high, too, but the Cho Oyu's fiberglass laminates and underfoot camber provide plenty of backbone to slice and dice windslab, refreeze, and boilerplate. Micro sidewalls in the middle of the ski reduce weight while providing serious edging power where you need it most. The ski's triple sidecut radius lets you make any sort of turn shape with confidence, so you can hit all your alpine objectives without hauling around four pairs of skis.
