It can feel like we're carrying the world on our shoulders when we hike into the backcountry, so to keep our carry light, we opt for the Freerider Lite 20L Backpack. The smaller size lets us lessen our load, and the pack itself is surprisingly low-weight. No features are sacrificed: we're still able to haul our skis or board, a helmet, and even an axe on the outside of our pack with plenty of room inside for downhill-ready layers and avy-safety equipment.

Pros: -very light bag that makes it easy to haul day over day. - nice slots/compartments to stow avalanche gear -appreciate the hydration bladder slot Cons: -it’s a chore fitting a rolled up shell, heavy gloves, ski goggles, full water bladder, and skins without maxing out this bag. -does not come with helmet carry as advertised in pictures. -ski straps are functional but added step to get in/out and apply.
