Good for walking

After trying these on and finding them very tight over the instep, I was inclined to return them. But then I decided to wear the around the house for a while, and they grew on me. Next day I walked a mile or so outside to break them in and my feet did not complain at all. A week and much walking later they feel like old friends. The sandals are mostly leather so they stretched a little to form to my feet. The Vibram hiking soles provide excellent traction. The footbed is firm and only slightly contoured, so they are pretty much barefoot sandals. The top band goes over the instep, which means that they stick to my feet, do not flap, and I can relax my toes as I walk. So, what you get is a good hiking sole that stays put on bare feet. Cool! Oh, and I'm a woman with big feet. If other ladies are reading this I encourage you to find out your equivalent men's size (American and European) and don't limit yourself to shoes that identify as female.

Best sandals ever

I don't really like sandals. Don't really like the way they look, fit, or feel. In the last 45 years I've probably owned 4. Primarily for around the pool. But I took a chance on these and completely love them. They are comfortable, very well made, and I don't have to struggle to keep them from slipping off. I'd buy these again in a minute. Definitely not for just around the pool.
