Stay dry and warm, your fingers will thank you.

It's hard to be comfortable when hands are cold and clammy. Thankfully, with the Dakine Titan gloves, that's not going to be an issue. The 280g insulation provides plenty of warmth for most days, and they'll stay dry thanks to the guaranteed waterproof, breathable Gore Tex insert. The tacky Rubbertec palm grips to just about everything, and the removable glove liner is smartphone compatible, so answering phone calls won't mean exposing your hands to arctic blasts. When the storms roll in, the zippered stash pockets make a perfect home for heat packs. Winter is too long to be dealing with inferior gloves, so go with something that will back you up when you really need it.

Really durable!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First thing I was super excited about the under layer it comes with because now I can take my gloves off and use my phone with the e-tips and not freeze my hands off. The glove its self is awesome really warm and I have beat it up over this season but still looks new.

Arrived with defect

I ordered these gloves a few weeks ago for my 18 year old son. They arrived with one liner having defective stitching, with gaps where they weren't sewn completely. In addition, when my son tried them on the liners fit like two different sizes! I can't speak to the quality, since we've been unable to use them thus far. In contacting both Backcountry and Dakine, I've been waiting over a week for a reply regarding the issue :-(

Great gloves at a great price

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used these gloves in temperatures ranging from -5 to 30 degrees in places from Colorado to central Japan and these gloves have served me well. They are very waterproof; after hours skiing my fingers aren't cold or wet. Also, the removable insert gloves are awesome. They are very touch screen compatible and I use them running, cycling, and driving around town.

For the price and functionality I highly recommend these gloves.

    Lacking some quality

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for my first ever snowboard trip, they were perfect the first three days, then I noticed some stitching inside the glove coming apart. I continued to use them the other 3 days of the trip but it was steadily getting worse. The next year I took them again and by day 4 the inside was completely ruined and seperated. I really enjoyed the gloves and they were super comfy when they were all intact but for the name brand and price I thought the quality was going to be quite a bit better. Now to find some new gloves for this years trip. I will try and attach pics when I get home, if it lets you do it after the review is submitted.

I completely agree with this comment. I had only 10 days use of them last season and pulled them out this season to use again and by day 3 the internal lining of the glove fully detached from the external shell. Shame because they're warm and waterproof and have the zipper on top to insert hand warmers. Can't be bothered making a warranty claim as all too hard.

    HUGE gloves

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am a 22 year old female with normal sized hands. I ordered the size small and the gloves were HUGE! At least an inch and a half of extra fabric extra at each fingertip. Returned immediately.

The quality of the gloves seemed pretty good though.

    Super warm, sick looks.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First time using a glove with a liner and have to say it makes a HUGE difference for warmth. Great glove with good features. The liner's work great with my iPhone and the wrist tethers are great for taking off the outer and not having to worry about losing it. Bought these in the gray and they look sick. Seem pretty rugged and well built, we'll see how they hold up next season.

    Great warm gloves

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For the price I don't think these can be beat. They are extremely warm when used with the liners. I frequently have cold hands even in mild temps (40 degrees) but these kept my hands comfortable during skiing with temps in the 20's for 8+ hours. I didn't feel the need to use hands warmers. The pull cord/cinch work well with one handed operation. Also, these things a truly waterproof.

    Nice glove!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This seems to be well made, and is warm with or without the liners.

Nose and goggle wipes are handy.

The cuff cinches are effective, but can be hard to tighten up sometimes with a gloved hand if you need to have them fully open. There's only about 3/8"-1/2" of extra material to grab onto in this situation, and the buckle can get in the way.

I think these fit true to size or a bit small. My hand measured in at 8.5" per their instructions, and the Large gloves fit perfectly. A little tight with the liners, but not uncomfortably so. If you're on the high side of the measurement range, these might feel small.

I traced my hand and took some rudimentary measurements in the hopes that it might help someone choose the correct size for themselves. See the attached pic. :)

"Hot Pocket" pockets are a nice feature, but I haven't used them yet.

    Nice glove!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The gloves were very warm and were made of great materials. The glove liner was also a great plus for texting. However, I ordered a small and the glove was WAY too big! Each finger had at least an inch of extra fabric at the end. I do have "smaller" hands (about 6.5 inches from top of wrist to tip of middle finger), but I was surprised to see how gigantic the sizing was even wearing a small. Unfortunately, the gloves were returned.

Good gloves but Bad Warranty Experience

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these Gloves to ski every week up at Brighton in UT. They Never felt too hot or cold. On warm days where it was 30s, they were cool; on Cold days near 0, they kept my hands toasty.

However after only a few months, they started to ripe in the inside. I sent them in under warrenty, thinking I would have a good pare in 4-6 weeks. My claim was authized in only 2, sweet. It is now 6 months later. I was not able to order the same item I purchased because everything was out of stock. Eventually I caved and ordered the only pair that were in stock and payed the diffence. These new gloves (though nicer) don't have some of the features I liked in the Titans (namely the removable liners).

Dakine makes gloves are nice, but keep in mind, if you ever have to warrenty them, it may be a VERY long time before you get them back.

Steven, I had the same issue with Dakine last winter and they extended the claim replacement credit until new gloves were in stock. I just called Warranty Service Ctr today and they took my order on the phone and will ship new 2015 gloves next week. You might give them a call if its not too late.

    Great gloves, well worth it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got these gloves to go snowboarding, and I put them to the test 2 weekends ago in Mountain Creek NJ. It was a cold day, prob between 10-15 degrees F. They worked great. It was snowy all day, and really cold. But the gloves kept my hands warm and even warmer once I got moving on the trail. I used the liners with sticky grip that comes with them. WOW, what a great invention. It worked great for using my cell phone/gopro with them and kept my hands warm. They were also waterproof which was a big welcome. When I would head back to the lodge, I'd take them off, and let the liners breath for a few and they dried somewhat fast. All in all, I would def. recommend these gloves. I'm even considering buying another pair as a spare set in case I damage these or loose one. Very good product.

I just got these, and haven't used them on the snow yet, but it's obvious that DAKINE put some thought into these! The removable liners are pretty warm on their own and have sticky grips AND touch-screen compatible fingertips. The shells are lined with Gore-Tex, have easily accessible hand-warmer pockets, and nose and goggle wipes (The goggle wipe is on the left glove, so it's not pictured above. I'm not sure why the tech specs say these gloves don't have one.). All of this for the price make these a no-brainer.

      Fantastic Gloves!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used these gloves for 2 previous ski seasons without any concern for cold hands. They are very warm with the 4x4 liners to about -10 degrees C. Below that, simple y slip-in a heat pack and you're off again. Only word of caution is getting too warm. In that case, drop the liners and go bare. Superb grip in the palms. Getting ready for the 3rd season without no signs of wear. Very pleased with these gloves.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These gloves are awesome! They keep my hands dry and warm from the bitter Alaskan weather! Plus I use the hand warmer pocket for my lift tickets instead of putting them into in my jacket and dry humping the lift gate LOL. All in all great gloves!!

      Good gloves

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It works and did keep my hands warm and dry. However, for anything below 0, i would still recommend a mitten. Not sure if it is a good idea to use the goggle wipe since it seems a little stiff (gets stiffer under colder conditions) and might scratch the goggles. Having a handwarmer pocket is always a pro, especially as the temperature drops to lower 10s. The liner adds warmth, but not a whole lot. However, it is quite handy for usage under milder conditions.

How is the fit? Do they run small or large...

How is the fit? Do they run small or large for the size XL? Are they tight with the liners in?

Comments I have heard from others are that the liner fits good next-to-skin and the glove itself fits very well without the liner. Most say that the combination of glove and liner is snug but they love both pieces so much it is hard to complain. So all in all, both pieces fit true to size but a little snug when paired .

Agree that using liners results in snug fit and unfortunately causes stress on the internal stitching. I have used mine for past two seasons extensively and the stitching has ripped. Returned them both and now replacing with a size-up (L -> XL). BTW, gloves + liner provides great warmth in very cold weather. Love this gloves!
