Tie downs
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these to keep my yeti cooler in place in the back of my jeep. They fit perfect in the slots on the side of a yeti cooler. They look to be strong and at 12 ft. You can cu them to it your needs or use the full 12 ft. To keep your gear where you want it.
Great Tiedowns
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Good value and thick webbing. I think these should last a while. They will be out in the sun full time so we will see how UV affects it.
worth it
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Its worth it to just order these rather than try to rig something up for yourself from the hardware store. The length is perfect for strapping down my paddle board on top of my subaru. The pads under the clips are great to protect the board. This little extra makes it worth it. Plus they come in a handy bag for storage.
Essential
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
If you are traveling with surfboards (or other large objects that need securing) these straps are a must-have. They come in a nice carrying case to keep them from sprawling throughout your bag, and have a thoughtful patch of nylon under the buckle to help avoid metal-on-surfboard contact.
I have used these straps for three years now on surf trips to strap 8-12 boards to various rental trucks and they have been awesome.
Sure you can go to walmart and get cheaper cam straps, but these are not made of the paper thin nylon that those are. They are a super burly quality nylon that will last. Yes you can buy similar high quality cam straps elsewhere, but they will be a similar price and will not have the patch under the buckle meant specifically to protect surfboards.
Buy these and be the hero next time you and your buddies are loading up the rental car at the airport.
