  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These things are great. They've kept my shades from falling off my head, many of times. Unfortunately, the adjustable / slidey thingy fell off mine, but they still work .

Let Me Tell You About These Chums

  • Height: 6'2"
  • Weight: 200lbs

Honestly, cheapest insurance you can buy for a pair of sunglasses (I think). They have saved a couple of over priced sunglasses of mine from establishing a new home at the bottom of a river or lake.

Lost Oakleys first time out

  • Fit: True to size

I used traditional croakies before this, and never had a problem loosing my glasses. The annoyance was how bulky those croakies where, so I tried these...

And lost my oakleys first time out on the water kite boarding.

I trust these to keep my sunglasses on my face in all situation from snowboarding to boating. They also look very stylish. My only comment is the rubber can dig into my skin making them uncomfortable to wear at length. It also might be that my sunglasses aren’t compatible and are the problem. Even so, I would wear these for any activity and feel confident that they wont budge.

    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 165lbs

It's almost river float season, which means its time to take out that $8 insurance policy on your nice polarized shades so they don't end up at the bottom of the river this 4th of July.

    Keep 'em safe

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Had a pair of Ray-Bans that went for a dive on the ocean after an unexpected big wave hit me on the back (sad).

Bought these to make sure that doesn't happen again. So far so good, easy to plug and discrete (got the blue ones).

    Sunglasses Help!

i bought a couple of these as gifts for the adventure men who go out daily and are always misplacing their sunglasses. These do the job and have some cool color options to choose from.

      Do Their Job

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I like the thinner size/lower bulk over some other styles, and the small rubber tips fit on both narrow and bulky sunglasses pretty easily. The square part for adjusting length is made of rubber so it shouldn't ding lenses if it hits them. The rubber ends don't go onto the sunglasses very far so they don't contact your head. The only downside is since they go straight out off the sunglasses, they make the arms longer, so they need to be taken off when you put your sunglasses in most cases.

They keep your glasses on your face!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have owned several pairs of Chums over the years and of all the different models that I have tried, they all have one thing in common: they keep your glasses on your face. I use them for climbing, hiking and especially anytime I am on the river, be it whitewater rafting or just tubing the Weber. These things are life savers, especially on multi day trips when you would be S.O.L. if you lost your sunglasses. I like the low bulk design of the 3mm Sunglass retainers, they are my favorite model that I have tried.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

These Chums are great. Not because they do anything incredible, but because they do what they're meant to do--keep your glasses on your head and not in the lake or on the trail.

      Not the biggest fan

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I have had retainers or Krokies before. I wasn't too fond of them in the past but I thought I would give them another try. I think i just have too much thick hair for these. They work great when I pull my hair up out of the way. Do the job perfectly but when my hair is down it is more of a hassle for me. I ordered the canyon orange color which is a cute color. I really really wish they would work for me because these are great for not loosing your glasses!

Where have you been all my life

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have purchased this in multiple colors. I have always been a fan of chums but just discovered these and I love the slimmer cord on these. Great, and not bulky. Love these!
