    A fly fisherman's best friend

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These chums are very valuable when spending a day on the river catching fish. They provide the comfort needed to fish for hours and take away the stress of worrying about your glasses. I've lost countless number of sunglasses through the years but since getting these chums i have yet to loose a single pair.

    Great Product

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've avoided chums for a long time on the premise that they look dorky. Now that I'm an adult, I can see the utility in this product. They work well, they will even fit onto glasses with large arms, like Oakleys. I'm a fan.

Don't Forget the Send Knob in the Back

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These work great for any day on the river, ocean or any other form of water where you don't want to lose your shades. The best function for me is whitewater kayaking/rafting where I need all day eye protection from the sun. The cinch in the back is great for when things get a little rough on the water and you don't want those expensive sunglasses getting donated to the fishes. Also a great option for those with prescription glasses that cannot afford to lose them.

This will be very one sided

Chums are great for keeping your sunglasses safe during times of great peril. All rivers are the same, they will take your sunglasses and never return them. Chums work well for fly fishing, because you are always tying knots and Chums lets you just take off your glasses and when you're done with your knot you know exactly where your glasses are. I have never lost a pair of sunglasses when using Chums.

Let Me Tell You About These Chums..

Best insurance you can buy for a pair of sunglasses. Its 1000% worth picking up to save those expensive sunnies you picked up for the boat/ river trip. Comfortable and secure. Cant go wrong!

    Very Necessary

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The equation goes like this, if I am going to spend more than 10 bucks on a pair of sunglasses, then I'm putting chums on them. Otherwise they are lost or broken inside of a month. Chums are super comfy and in some cases will make a pair of glasses fit that don't otherwise. This round will be like my 20th pair.

    chums rock

chums are the best for keeping sunnies secure! hiking, climbing, rafting, running, dancing at concerts... yeah they are good for everything. and come in nice colors! and they are made in Utah!!

Groovy! Not just for old people!

Just thought I'd cast my 2 cents: these are invaluable if you care about your glasses! And they're not just for old people! I've had Chums for quite a while, I think my first pair was gotten for a buck at a thrift store in Seward, still have it somewhere! I've since found one on the ground (Thanks Chums Gods!), and just bought another to pair with some new Smiths.

These just work, cotton is nice on the skin and the piece of mind knowing you can't loose your glasses too easily, it does happen on the rivers, is worth $8.

Pro tip: If they get gunky, use some dish soap and lather them up and slide the ring all over and they'll be just like new. Also, don't push the rubber tips on too hard, they can break the frames!

Fun story: On the Grand last year, I managed to break the right arm of some old smiths, so I took the chum and squished it on to what was left of the arm and it worked fine. Then the other side broke, I again attached the chum to what was left and had to cinch them down a bit since these had glass lenses. Got me through another 2 river days, and a stupid hard hike up the North Kaibab! In a pinch, they can work some wonders.

These perform exactly as they're designed to. They hold your glasses securely on your neck, so you wont lose a pair next time you float the river.

It's almost river float season, which means its time to take out that $8 insurance policy on your nice polarized shades so they don't end up at the bottom of the river this 4th of July.

Still the #1 standard when it comes to protecting your sunnies from hitting the deck. Many have tried to re-invent the wheel, but these suckers just keep on ticking. Cotton feels great on the temples and doesn't rip or pull at your hair and they feel even better when they are wet & cool on a hot desert day. At this price point and with such an overload of awesome colors, pretty sure you should lock and load all your sunnies with a pair of Chums! Feel free to thank me later.

    Best Idiot Straps Around

I bought these as a gift for my girlfriend, and she loves them. She says: These cotton chums are so comfortable and cute! I don't need to worry about my glasses falling off while climbing.
