Why We Like The Cervelo ZFS-5 GX Transmission Mountain Bike
Racing around our local trails or lining up at the starting gate, when we need a fast and efficient bike, our go-to is the Cervelo ZFS-5 mountain bike. With a super lightweight frame and an efficient suspension platform, the ZFS-5 is a rocket ship of a cross-country bike that is ready to race against the best. Designed around a single pivot, flex stay suspension, the ZFS-5 converts every ounce of energy we put into the pedals into forward momentum to give us a super efficient and fast cross-country bike. With 100mm of travel, the ZFS-5 is lightning fast on the flats and can climb super efficiently. 29-inch wheels help to carry our speed and rollover rocks and roots with ease, and a 75-degree seat tube angle allows for efficient and powerful pedaling when climbing uphill. Size-specific chainstays give us a nimble, stable, and balanced ride for every size frame, and a 67.8-degree head tube angle allows us to maintain precise handling while still keeping us in an good position to handle steep descents with confidence. An integrated chainstay and downtube protector keeps our frame protected from chain slap and rock strikes, and two water bottle mounts allow us to stay hydrated when we are in the saddle for long days.
The GX Eagle Transmission AXS build of the Cervelo ZFS-5 comes complete with the most advanced tech in the electronic drivetrain market and quality components. Cervelo's carbon frame is made of premium materials, giving us the stiffest and lightest weight frame possible. SRAM's GX Eagle Transmission AXS drivetrain gives us flawless shifting, a huge gear range, and a durable construction for race ready performance. RaceFace's ARC Offset 27 aluminum rims paired with DT Swiss's 370 hubs combine to make a quality wheelset that is durable, dependable, and ready to crush the competition. SRAM's new Level Bronze Stealth, 4-piston brakes supply tons of stopping power, and premium Maxxis Rekon Race tires give us the traction and grip we need while keeping the rolling resistance and weight to a minimum. A RockShox SIDLuxe Select+ rear shock keeps us locked onto the ground when things get rowdy and features a 3-position remote lockout so we can lockout our suspension when climbing. A 100mm RockShox SID SL Select+ fork is lightweight, handles the larger hits with ease, and has a r3-postion emote lockout so we can climb more efficiently out of the saddle.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
