Great Baselayer but extremely fragile

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:

Good: Keeps you warm (with appropriate outer layer(s) without getting soaked in sweat - which would make you feel cold. Unfortunately, mine had a tear after 1 use.

Not Sure the Point of This Thing

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Rode in 58 F degree weather as a base layer in cool weather. 58. Almost the exact level of high temp recommendation: "Ideal for riding in temperatures between 39-59°F." Freezing core. Zero help. I normally wear just an extra wicking jogging t shirt under my cycling jersey in these conditions and had better results. I was just hoping to find that perfect base layer when it's 50-60 degrees out and too warm for cold weather base layer and too chilly for no base layer at all. Na, this isn't it.
