A shoulder season essential.
On a long ride, a spring headwind is more than a time sucker and effort increaser. It’ll make you damn chilly if you’re not prepared, which is why most cyclists make sure to bring something like the Capo Pursuit Compatto Men’s Wind Vest when they’re attacking long breezy rides—particular during the shoulder seasons. Designed to stuff into a jersey pocket for easy storage, the Pursuit features a wind-blocking and water-resistant Compatto membrane in the front along with V Mesh 360 panels on the back, which ensure you don’t get pruney soaking in your own sweat on tough climbs. Reflective yellow highlights are sprinkled across the Pursuit to improve visibility, and there’s also a zippered pocket at the back for a gel, key, or phone.
- Item #CAP003I
- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
I have tried several lightweight wind vests, with varying success. I've felt too claustrophobic, or had them flap so incessantly that I'd take the cold over the flapping. The Pursuit Compatto seems to slot right in between and feels just right. Slim, without being a full "race" fit. Like many Italian brands, the sizing tends to run small, so I would recommend going up a size especially as this is an over-layer.
The highlight-yellow zipper and piping add a nice amount of visibility and style without going over the top.
Perhaps the best feature is the zippered rear pocket, too un-common in light weight vests and jackets. The material is transparent enough to properly fly your club colors and will let your race number show through to keep you out of trouble with the officials!
Great product, Capo comes through again!
