Great product, light and packs easily
Was pleasantly surprised at the weight and ability to pack this probe easily.

Perfect PNW
Long but not too long. Stiff. Saved some grams, but added some volume when compared to aluminum. Perfect length for deeper snowpack

Carbon probe 300
It's a great probe. Unfolds fast, stable on the probing front. I like the measurements, nothing too fancy or complicated like some other probes I've seen. Very reasonably priced!!

Great probe
Easy to read depth markings, light weight, solid probe that’s easy to deploy and never feels flimsy

Jury is still out
I've been using BD probes for over a decade, skiing, guiding and teaching avalanche courses. I like that some weight has been shed with the current iteration but am also concerned with the durability of these. The cord seams to have a decent amount of stretch to it, which makes it feel like I might snag segments on the burly crusts that we currently have in the PNW, additionally, I'm finding the light weight locking mechanism to be far less glove friendly than the tried and true button mechanisms. Assuming durability doesn't become a huge issue, I do like the weight savings and I'm hoping that this probe proves me wrong while being psyched I've got a backup in the drawer at home.

String Breaks
I can’t believe this probe isn’t recalled yet. I had a fraying string this fall, warrantied the probe, and today, while teaching an avalanche class, I broke another probe. Unacceptable work, once again, on the part of BD. Snow safety is not the place to cut corners. Do better

Great probe
Light, super easy and quick to deploy. Super easy to put away. 300 is great for our deeper snowpack. I haven't had this one long but so far so good. The large numbers are easy to read when in a snow pit.

Bought for a friend
Packs up small, and extends quickly and easily with gloves on. Haven’t used it yet thankfully but seems to be everything you need.

Great Probe
I bought this with the Evac 9 shovel as my first set of avalanche safety gear. Seems like it will hold up well to abuse. Easy to deploy and stow. Fits well in my bag and is nice and light for what it is.
