9.6mm Dry Bi-Pattern Rope
Why We Like The Black Diamond 9.6mm Dry Bi-Pattern Rope
The 9.6 Dry Bi-Pattern Rope isn't too stiff or too soft: It's just right, giving us rugged performance and a great feel whether we're desert cragging or sending mixed routes. We easily identify mid-point on rappel with the bi-pattern weave and no longer run from encroaching rain clouds with the rope weather protected from the inside out.

Great Bi-Pattern rope
I will never again by a rope without this. The pattern makes rope management way easier. Also dry rope durability is solid.

My new climb partner
I really liked the rope weave. Despite not being the thinnest, 9.6 mm, it runs well on the Grigri. This is my third string of BD, I recommend it!

Only has this rope out
Only has this rope out once so far but it feels nice in your hands and moves smoothly through the belay device. It is a full 70m (not all ropes are) and the bi-pattern makes it easy to find the middle. Couldn’t ask for more after a day’s use.

fantastic rope!!
looove this rope. the bi-pattern is super convenient, the rope is just stretchy enough for falls, and durable. Probably won’t need the full 80m for local crags, but that’s still good news in terms of longevity!

Great rope.
I’m a fan of the bi-pattern and I’m happy with the 9.6 diameter. Also happy to finally own an 80m rope.

Good rope but stiff
My favorite aspect of this rope is the bicolor pattern. It's an awesome and easy way to make sure that you know where you are in the rope vice looking for your faded middle mark. I'm not sure why the BD dry ropes are so stiff, but this is the second one we've gotten and they definitely do not break in overtime. It has been several years since we last needed to buy a dry rope, and I would have thought that their dry rope treatment would have improved. So if you're really sensitive to the stiffness of your rope, I would not recommend this rope. On the plus side it does make clipping a little easier. It is a great rope outside of that and still has good handling.

Great Rope
Everything I wanted, nothing I didn't. Awesome rope. The tags on the end could be attached in a more permanent way.
