Jodi Guber Brufsky left behind the high-pressure life of a talent agent and PR agency owner to become a yoga instructor and life coach. However, she was finding it hard to locate stylish, flattering workout clothes that she could wear not only in her practice, but outside the studio. So in 2006, she and Michelle Wahler founded Beyond Yoga. True to its name, the company seeks to not only create comfortable, supportive, and stylish clothes, but to inspire and enable women “to live passionate, authentic lives, loving who they are inside and out.”
Beyond Yoga’s collection includes leggings and tops for yoga as well as pieces ideal for life outside of class, for both work and leisure. They are specifically designed to flatter a variety of body types, shapes and sizes, from petite to curvy—in other words, real women. Beyond Yoga clothing is crafted from luxuriously soft, durable, wash-and-wear fabrics, carefully designed and tested to ensure optimal comfort and functionality. And they are all made in the USA.
Beyond Yoga promotes a healthy outlook and realistic life perspective. To that end, Jodi encourages women on their own journeys of self-acceptance with powerful messaging like the Be Body Proud campaign. She is also on the Board of I Am That Girl, a nonprofit that aims to foster self-esteem and a positive body image in young girls. This goes hand-in-hand with Beyond Yoga’s goal to promote a healthy outlook and realistic life perspective. “We encourage women to embrace who they are at this moment, instead of looking to be something or someone they are not already.”
