Probably works but broke immediately
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The pants themselves seem like they?ll do what I want them for. However, the snaps that keep the zipper from unzipping at the top broke immediately - on both sides. The material is obviously too thick, and the snaps are too tight. I may still keep them and try to come up with a solution. For sizing I am 5?0?, 110lbs, and normally an XS in pants. I ordered the S in Black and they fit acceptably, but I would exchange for the XS if it were available. They are loose (but not too loose) even over leggings. Probably a good thing for not compressing the insulation and accommodating a few extra winter pounds, but I think it would be hard to fit under other pants that I have.

Very warm and comfortable!

These will keep you super warm! My only complaint is I wish these were more high waisted. I got a medium and the hips are a touch baggy, so a higher waist would prevent these sagging down. I tuck my top layers in and they stay up fine, just a little fussy. I wear these with medium Flyflow bibs and they fit fine underneath. I am 5?7? and 140 lbs, for reference. I definitely recommend, just know they maybe run a little large, depending on your fit preference.

I am buying more backcountry brand pants and shorts because you are the only ones making pockets large enough to fit my phone. Thank you for the large pockets!!!!!!!! Also I just got these and haven't asked in them yet but they seem perfect for under my ski shell pants.5'2" and 110 lb and I wouldn't want the xs any tighter, they seem perfect. Xs is usually big on me, these definitely aren't

Never Cold

I got these for cold backcountry skiing days, they are super warm and the right length so that the pants don't interfere with my boots. The zips at the hips make is so I can take off the pants without removing my bibs which is awesome.

Excellent gift option
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I gave these to a friend who is literally always cold, no matter the temperature outside. She said they're a nice extra layer between her baselayer and ski pants to add more warmth to those cold snowy days sitting on a lift. She's a sold size 10 across most brands, and to allow some layering room underneath, I picked up the XL for her. The fit gave just enough room without being overly tight or so baggy they fell off. The left side pocket is nice for keeping anything that needs to be securely zipped away.

Hi, this is Emily and I work on the Backcountry brand product development team. I am writing this review today to help guide your sizing decision on this new product. My measurements are: 5'4" Tall Size 4, or on the larger size of S in bottoms The larger side of S for tops bust 34 B The product we all need! The pant fits a little on the small side, the M fits me very well over a baselayer. I am a biker and skier so have the regular feminine athletic build (large thighs, and booty) and had ample space for movement in the M.

These are so awesome. I had been looking for a zip of underlayer for women for quite some time! I've worn these skiing on multiple occasions (cool because the hit at the top of the boot and can be zipped without removing boots) and also on hunting trips, perfect for sitting still when you're freezing! I wish backcountry would make a line of zip off merino underlayers as well for those warmer days. ;)

Weird fit depending on the color

I ordered a L in the Pirate Black and an XL in Black. I got the Pirate Black in L instead of M because the reviews said they run small. But it definitely fits like a true L. BUT the XL I got in the Black fit like a M. The XL in Black was actually smaller than the L in Pirate Black. I kept the XL in Black cause it is actually the medium fit I was looking for. Sorry for the weird and long review on the sizing. Besides the odd fit, it is really nice fitting under my shell.
