I wanted a pair of "puffer" style pants after seeing some super heavy duty options from mountain hardwear. I came across these and thought that these were more suitable to wear out and about, way more affordable, and just super aesthetic overall. Since the back half are normal legging material in solid black, and the front are down lined, they are super warm without being too much of a michelin marshmallow puff. The crotch area does puff out a bit just a bit because of the seam, so if you are camel conscious - that is worth mentioning. I have a very pear shaped body and these fit flattering enough for me, and sit high waisted. They are also incredibly cozy and comfortable, most importantly they are so warm! I wore these while snow shoveling and was standing in 3 foot snow drifts at times, my legs did not get cold or feel wet at all the entire time. They also flex well so I found them very easy to move in. These are an awesome addition to my winter wardrobe & I would probably buy them in more color variations. Fun fact: you can also track where the down in your pants down came from!

I have a few of these pants from various years in a few different colors (Hey Backcountry- coffee brown again please and Navy next year!). This pink color certainly stands out. It pairs well with my Patagonia better sweater in a berry color. They are not bulky at all and give me a nice silhouette. Note that the down is only on the front panel and the back is knit, which IMO keeps one from looking like the Michelin man. I'm 5'2 and they are the perfect length so if you are a tall person they may be more like an ankle pant. These pants hold up well without losing feathers nor losing their shape. I wear them over smooth leggings almost every day for dog walks and when I get home from work to lounge in- great for keeping the heat a little lower to save on electric). I wash every so often on delicate and dry in the dryer with dryer balls on low heat for a few cycles. These are also cozy under a waterproof shell for cold. rainy weather. The fall/winter 2023-2024 pants have a diagonal stitch baffle to keep feathers evenly distributed, whereas past years have had a straight stitch. I prefer the straight across stitch because I think it is a cleaner look, but that is just me being annoyingly picky about aesthetics. Overall I would highly recommend these pants, and the matching skirt over leggings is great too (though I sized up to a small for that). Though they are an investment, it's a fair price point for what you get- I've never been poked by feathers or really lost many, and the down is responsibly sourced. Great for cold walks, dog walks, skiing/outdoor sports, camping/hiking, Eagles games, hanging out watching your kids sports in freezing cold and ice hockey rinks, Apres-ski, layering over a base layer for extra warmth, and keeping warm when you go to people's houses who refuse to up the thermostat past 65 in the winter.
