Nice material, but large and weird fit

I have tried ordering these pants 3 times now. That's how much I WANTED them to work! The fabric is great- lightweight and breathable. Really nice. However, I have two issues with these pants. First, they are huge! Like 1-2 sizes too big. I normally wear a XL or L if things are a little roomy. I need a M in this style. For comparison, I have The Easy On The Go 2.0 pants in an XL and they fit great! My other issue is they really are too big in the crotch and balloon out. Not very cute. If you're curvy at all, these might not be for you. Definitely disappointed!

I ordered XS in different styles of Backcountry pants. These are very oversized. I kept it since I like the color, the material is a bit scratchy on bare skin.

Unsure—weird fit

I love how lightweight and baggy these pants are but I have two issues with them. One isssue is that they almost look like PJ pants made of some cheaply polyester due to the lack of pockets and slouchy vibe. The other is that the crotch balloons out like mens pants do and no matter how I cinch them or pull them up or down, it looks like there is too much excess material in the front. I think this could be fixed with quick sewing but I’m not sure I like them enough to do that. Material is the same as the romper they made last season and presumably the other on the go pants so should be good for quick dry and hot weather. I’m a 29” waist and wear a 6 or 8 and got a size medium. Fit is good except crotch balloon.
