As far as pants go, I typically resort to leggings for all things — climbing, hiking, etc. — as I really don't like the way activewear pants fit or look. I've tried several popular styles of various brands, like Black Diamond, Prana, and The North Face, and have been left dissatisfied. While I have not use these for climbing yet, I was so impressed when I put them on, to the point of not wanting to take them off. STELLAR FEATURES INCLUDE... - wide waistband is flattering and seemed like it would pair perfectly with a harness loaded with gear - look active without being in your face about it - slightly cropped leg is everything I love - the initial movement I had in these without having to pull them up (a huge problem I've had with other brands!) is a game changer - pockets! I ordered these in a medium and would not have sized down. I typically wear a 26 in most jeans. Would recommend these for many purposes, outside of climbing! Thanks, Backcountry!

I wore these a few times bouldering in the gym and was so impressed with the comfort and movement. The real test was taking them up a desert tower. I scccrrraaaaaped my way up some of the pitches, and there is seriously not a single sign of tearing or scratching on these pants, they are made of mithrill or something. Super comfortable, good movement, and super durable. Buy these.

Perfect Climbing/Outdoor Pants!

I own too many climbing pants. It has become a bit of an obsession, but I know what I'm looking for when it comes to climbing pants. These pants are everything I want in a climbing pant and totally exceeded my expectations. They are slightly high-waisted, stretchy, breathable, and flattering. The material is light, water resistant, but still durable. The fit is also great, not too baggy but not too tight. The cropped look is perfect, and thats coming from someone who is 5'2 and finds most pants (cropped or not) to be too long. And....the POCKETS. The pockets are deep and the 3rd side pocket is placed nicely for easy access while wearing your harness. I find myself very easily wearing these from the climbing gym to my next activity or errand. They're a great lifestyle, outdoor, climbing pant and I couldn't recommend them enough. For reference I am 5'2 and 125lbs and the small fit perfect.

I am soooo picky about pants, especially for climbing and hiking, but these really fit the bill. So many pants are marketed as being stretchy but end up feeling stiff, probably for added durability. These are ACTUALLY stretchy, while still seeming like they'll hold up to all the demands of trad climbing. There are not two but THREE pockets, one of which is zippered, and they're all pretty large in size. Lastly, the waist band is wide, stretchy, and high-waisted. Usually the pants deal breaker for me is how the waist fits, but the waist on these is super comfortable and fits really well underneath a harness. For reference, I'm 5'4", 115lbs, and have a 27in waist. My only complaints are that a zippered thigh pocket would be a really functional addition and I like a tighter ankle cuff, so it would be nice if they had a pull cord.
