I have a closet full of LL Bean flannel, from Portugal, brushed 8x on each side, according to Bean. These are made in Morocco, which puts it in a cotton class perhaps better than Egyptian or Peruvian. It is heavier than a Bean chamois shirt by weight, the softness is the definition of luxury and the design details are very carefully thought out. I have 5 colors of this year's version and it might be the only flannel I wear all winter, prior ArborWear shirts included. Warm, soft, well made and designed...is there a better looking, more comfortable flannel than the Indigo version anywhere? It's in a class by itself and I look forward to wearing one every day. ArborWear used to be made in China, which was sturdy but not sturdy AND luxurious. Pair it with SmartWool baselayers and you're living in style and comfort!

Pockets tacked on from the inside?

Nice colors and fabric, but one absurdly cheap construction detail ruins it. A heavy shirt jacket often is worn open. Can't do that with this, because the pockets were tacked on from the inside, leaving unfinished edges all around. It looks cheap, and turns an otherwise nice shirt into junk. Nobody else does this with their flannel shirts, not L.L. Bean, Carhartt, Woolrich, Five Brothers, Guides Choice, nobody. Tried to talk myself into keeping it, but couldn't.

Large for Large

This shirt is super comfy and I love it. But just know it's big for a large. Some flannel after you wash it shrinks a lot and fits tighter than your normal fit, this is not one of those. It's looser fitting in the arms overall and has a sort of baggy fit to it. Which is not a bad thing, it's roomy and super comfortable, very pleased just runs a bit big for a large which can be perfect if that's what you need.

For those that have a size Large or XL, what does the actual shirt measure across the chest ? Shirt laid flat, measure just under the armpit across. I can manage the multiply times part !
