Well made little chair

I got this chair to replace the standard larger (cheap/disposable) camp chairs sold at Walmart. It packs down much smaller and has a handy mesh storage bag that actually fits the folded up chair easily. It has beefy structural poles and a nice double-stitched ventilated mesh seat made of very durable materials. It is NOT hard to assemble at all, despite other's complaints. I plan to have this chair for years. There is not a better chair for the money.

Broke the first time we sat in the chair
I had high hopes for this chair, but it really left me disappointed. As previous reviews said the mesh seat was hard to get on the frame. Once we put the mesh frame on and did our first sit down on the chair and the plastic knobs cracked and we don't weigh a lot (130lbs). This product didn't even last one sit down. I returned these chairs the same day. Not worth it. I say pay the extra money and get a helinox chair. This is a cheap chair.

Love this chair despite its flaws

I agree with a previous reviewer, it is very difficult to get the chair stretched over the frame the first time but it does get much easier with subsequent uses. My main complaint was that l ordered 3 of these & they all arrived with flaws; the blue one arrived with a ripped carry bag, the orange with a cracked foot, & the green one the first time I sat on it all 4 feet cracked & popped off. Backcountry was amazing about it; I contacted a gearhead & they fully refunded me for the green chair and offered credits on the two flawed chairs, 10/10 for customer service! The design of the feet as well makes for a fun game we liked to call chair roulette: if the ground is at all soft the chair legs tend to dig in with each movement, so every time you sit down you never know if the leg will dig all the way into the ground & toss you off. For the price I?m very happy with the chairs, I?ll keep them & use them, as they are light enough for canoe camping. Next year though I might just invest in a Helinox. UPDATE: after 4 camping trips the frame has torn into the chair fabric on the bottom right side, leaving the chair unusable. Don't waste your time.

Not Worth the Hassle

This chair, as several other people have stated, is ridiculously hard to get onto the frame. The fabric doesn't have enough give to get it on there, and it's way too heavy for backpacking. Maybe the singular person who had no trouble getting it on has either 1) superhuman strength or 2) the one individual chair that was actually made properly. Don't buy this chair. It's a waste of money.

This chair feels solid and great. Super comfy. Needs a little patience folding and packing it up but worth it. Would buy more.

Make sure you?re near civilization

I cut myself on the frame first time setting it up, requiring stitches. And none of the 15 people I was camping with could successfully get the cover on the chair. So, fail.

I was nervous to purchase with the 1 star review below, but I got the chair and it took seconds to set up! I have no idea how it took them an hour to try and set up a chair. It's compact, its comfortable, and sooooo cheap. Will the more expensive chairs last longer? maybe- but I just need a comfy car camping chair to sit back on and enjoy a beer. This does the trick. If you want a good bang for you buck, go with the chair. I got orange and love it. Probably buying another. Btw: I'm 6'0, 180 and very comfortable.

Wanted to love these chairs but......
I have to return them. They are a great idea, and should take only minutes to set up. But after spending over an hour trying to get the covers to fit on the frames, I gave up. The cover on each one was just too small for the frame. I understand that the cover needs to be tight to keep the frame together, but I was unable to ever get more than two of the four corners to fit at one time, and believe me, I tried. I also asked someone a good bit stronger than me to try, but that didn't work. Even two of us trying together had no luck. Makes me wonder if anyone at Backcountry has actually assembled these or what kind of quality control exists.
