Does what it should
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Weight:

It's light and it's well made. I can see why some people have complained about the assembly process. Getting the legs to go into the frame is a bit like restringing a recurve bow. It's a little tough, but it's not impossible. I'm happy with it!

some assembly required...

The cot is very comfortable and fits me well at 5'11" and 205lbs. It came packaged nicely and was in good shape. Following the instructions, I assembled the 3 piece side rails but could in no way slide them in from top to bottom from either first side opening in the material. Before going further, I assembled it with the last bit of material not supported and put the legs on as instructed. Easy enough. It took a little to bend them into place but not difficult by any means. Cot is very comfortable at this point with the last 6" of material unsupported but not the way it is supposed to be. I popped off the end rail section, slid it into the middle fabric opening and down into the last section of fabric. I used the leg extension to push down to the point where it engaged and slipped onto the middle section. No problem and onto the other side. Same procedure, all good, complete assembly! Getting it apart the same night was incredibly difficult using the reverse process. I was able to undo one but not the other. I needed about a 1/8" more room as now the ends are separated inside the fabric but unable to clear each other to be removed. I left it semi disassembled overnight and it came apart with no issues. I reassembled it completely to let the other side stretch out. I think I will actually prefer this cot over the collapsible taller one I bought as well as it is simpler and lighter and will hold up better. (the collapsible one has already cut the fabric where it gets caught in the its mechanisms). Nice cot, break it in and should be fine.

This cot is great. It's light but strong. I've never had a better sleeping experience while camping, and it's because of this inexpensive item. Buy it.

Hard to setup - Not worth the effort
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Extremely hard to setup, I bought this over the summer and finally took it out of the box to do a little winter camping and it just won't go together, too late to return by now. Buy something else, unless you enjoy being aggravated.

Adequate for the job
Requires a bit of muscle to get it setup however does the job for a cot.

No problems

I really like this cot. I also bought the lighter alps mountaineering cot and find this more comfortable. Have slept multiple nights on it a couple times and have no complaints. Set up was not a problem for me. I?m 5? 7? 150 lbs and can easily get legs into slots. Didn?t need any special tools or anything to set it up. I will say that my wife struggles a bit to set it up, but can do it with effort. Takes up little space while transporting. Wouldn?t go backpacking with it-too heavy for that. Definitely the best bang for the buck.

Can't get rails in slots without a tool!

Should have paid more attention to the numerous reviews mentioning set-up problems. We bought TWO of these cots, and on each one, one side rail went in with a reasonable amount of effort, and the other would not go in by hand -- they required the use of a screwdriver as a wedge, like a tire iron. There was NO WAY we were going to get the rails in without a tool. We are letting them stretch overnight, then we'll take them apart and try to set up again -- maybe the canvas will have stretched adequately.

As a woman of normal strength I can not get the legs into the holes. Neither can my big strong young buck neighbor. I am returning this cot,
