I bought these and the matching knee pads for riding at Trestle this fall. The knee pads worked great, but the elbow pads kept slipping down to my forearms by the end of the day and getting in the way more than protecting. They did protect me in a fall at the beginning of the day, but by the end, again, they were covering my wrists more than my elbows. I could be missing some trick to keeping them up, but I exchanged them for some Troy Lee's that seem to fit much better although I haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

I wish I could return these.
Just like their knee pad partner, these pads have been absolutely useless for me. They slide down while riding so easily that it is pointless to wear them. Every time I've taken a spill they weren't in place to protect my elbows. I doubt its a sizing issue either. I wouldn't be able to fit into a smaller pair.

Best Lightweight Pad
- I've put it through the wringer
I have worn so many light weight pads that really only function as wrist and ankle warmers. It has been tough to find a pad that stays on when riding and more importantly stays on in a crash that isn't hard shell downhill stuff. I have gone through most of the major brands. Alpine stars Paragons work for me where others don't. This is my second set of Paragons. The plus version is a big improvement though the old version worked pretty well. The knee shin pad has a reinforced elastic built in on the calf that works brilliantly to keep the pad in place. Note that the new plus version sizing is off on the elbow pad for me! The size table may only be appropriate to the old version (old ones size large fit, new ones not so much). Consider buying a size smaller than what the table tells you to get. Knee pad sizing seems to be right.
