Aleck Nunchucks, pair purchased together

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I wish this was a better story. Purchased two (2) as pair in November 23 for upcoming ski season. In short, the headset works O.K. with both my wife's Apple phone and my android, no issue. The issue is with the actual headset. The microphone although connecting during calls is so muted you must shout for the other person to hear anything. Imagine how that looks inside the ski lodge cafe to attempt a call?? I've contacted Aleck about adjusting/fixing, etc.. NO RESPONSE. Secondary, the volume adjustment in principle is a good idea, but in reality, doesn't work well. You must cycle up and down and you can't tell the level b/c you don't know if it's starting up or down. So that's a pain in the rear. The sound is decent, but I liked OutdoorTech CHIPS 2.0 for sound quality better personally. I can make the google assistant work, but it's difficult and fiddly. The PTT app and communication, well what little we've tried has been useless. From what I can tell, the headset works as "advertised" but in reality, just isn't very good quality, hard to use, has some bugz. Maybe that's just my experience and yours will be different?? Actually, going to return both and go back to CHIPs most likely. We unfortunately put stickers on the box for identification of his/hers, so I don't think I can now.

Not consistent, hard to connect

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought a pair for my wife and me to try out. Skied 4 days with them trying to get them to work to no avail. We were in Heavenly which has good cell coverage throughout the resort, either she would be connected and i couldn't connect or vice versa. For the few times that we were both connected, we would have to make sure to mute them on the lifts when we were next to each other or would get serious feedback whenever one of us spoke to each other. Ended up returning them.

Leaves a lot to desire...

These chips are functional and easy to use but lack the quality of a nice headphone. Also, even though they are meant to fit in all audio inserts they are a tight squeeze on my Smith Maze insert. No major complaints after 5 days on the mountain this season, but overall they could be louder, have better sound quality, ad fit easier into an insert.
