Description

Be ready for emergency rescue with the Wild County Ropeman Ascender.

The Wild Country Ropeman Ascender is new and improved, but still here to help you out of a pinch when necessary. Wild Country added hot forged side plates to accommodate a wider variety of carabiners, so stocking up on this ascender doesn't automatically send you back to the gear shop to tinker with trial 'biners. At barely over two ounces, the Ropeman adds quite a bit of vertical versatility to your rack without bogging you down.

Works perfect for what it is; a mini ascender. Obviously not a full size ascender, but doesn't pretend to be. Perfect for short climbs or rescues; small and light enough to keep in the pack.

In the rock climbing environment when you never know when something might go wrong, fumbling around with tying friction hitches can take up valuable time, why not just pop on the Wild Country ropeman and be on your way to the rescue? It is light weight, and very user friendly, and it is a great utility player in your tool bag, haul systems, picks, or just plain light weight canyoneering systems.

I have used the Ropeman 1 a few times so far and it works great. Easy to install and use.

The Ropeman is a great alternative to a handled ascender in situations where you will not likely need one. I prefer this device over alternative methods such as the Tibloc or friction hitches as a progress-capture device for crevasse/mountain rescue because it operates on a camming system that still works on wet/icy ropes and doesn't have teeth to chew up the rope. This ascender is not a replacement for handled ascenders in big wall scenarios, but works great as an emergency device.
