As Whitegold founder Kevin Sansalone's big-mountain board for charging the steeps, pow-choked chutes, and stacked pillow lines of Whistler's backcountry, the White Gold North Snowboard provides the optimized powder float of a directional shape and Freeride Triple Base Technology. Its stiff flex pattern is best suited for riders looking to ride at blistering speeds down steep runs and open, untracked bowls. As a cool bonus, the board's sealed bamboo centerline stringer makes it a great choice for creating a DIY split, ensuring the core doesn't become compromised from outside moisture and snow.
Triple Base Technology starts with a traditional camber lengthwise for snappy response and reliable edgehold, turning up/beveling the base edges along the tip and tail to eliminate hang-ups while riding flat-base, also smoothly moving snow around the nose without the usual "plowing" effect of a traditional camber profile. The Triple Base Technology is more dramatic along the nose, helping the board plane effortlessly across deep, untracked powder. Furthermore, the board features a substantial set-back (0.8-inches), slightly tapered shape, and Backseat Inserts for increased powder floatation when you're dropping into fresh backcountry runs.
Inside this premium big-mountain board, the VeryLight core is made of Swiss poplar and paulownia woods for the utmost in strength and lightweight performance. Triax fiberglass ensures maximum energy transmission for instantaneous edge-to-edge response and high-speed stability. Cork slaps running lengthwise dampen vibration when you're busting through chop and variable snow conditions. Carbon triangles in the tip and tail keep you planted when you're stomping heavy landings and launching off cliffs into deep snow. Additionally, the hardened German steel edges stand up to serious use and abuse while the wax-absorbent sintered base maximizes glide to prevent you from bogging down in the deep stuff.
