Why We Like The Summit Cragstone Pro Shoe

While we like crags that we can approach with flip-flops on as much as the next guy, The North Face Summit Cragstone Pro Shoe encourages us to go deeper into the woods looking for fun routes. These approach shoes encourage scambling and difficult hiking by combining a precise BOA system with tacky Vibram rubber.

Excellent lightweight approach/hiking shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing these around town and to the office for about 3 weeks. They are very comfortable to wear all day long. The mesh uppers are quite breathable and I love the ease of the BOA dial to get in and out of them. They seem pretty neutral in terms of heel drop, either flat or 4mm or less. The stack height is also pretty low so they feel quite stable. I am not sure if they would be durable outside scrambling in scree and talus but they will be agile and grippy with the midsole/outsole package that they have. One of the best shoes I have come across in quite a while

Don't buy this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blisters!! Many! Yes, it is light and the sole sticky, but it is a hard shell....parts of it are tight or hurts....and not flexible at all!! I wish I like it because it looks nice...but....I wonder who designed this shoe....

When TNF and Vibram meet, magic happens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a Vibram sole on a lightweight upper for trail hikes. I'm sadly not a huge fan of many of the Vectiv segment due to the rocket style sole and thicker midsole. LOVE the semi minimalist fit of this shoe which allows you to really feel the trail and have a more technical control. The upper breathes incredibly well for hotter months. Fit is spot on to all the other TNF shoes I have. The only wish was the BOA system causes the the nylon fabric to flex above the toes in an odd way and "snap" sometimes. Doesn't affect performance. A really solid shoe with no real competition in its space. Sportiva and Altra brands wear WAY too fast. Vibram sole is king.

Great shoe for quick lightweight hiking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very lightweight shoe with amazing grip on rocks. I was very impressed by the grip even while it was raining.

Great approach shoes or light hiking shoes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super breathable and the BOA dial makes the fit feel super snug and secure, especially when on technical terrain.

awful hiking shoe

Heel backing was like rubber. Attempted a few different types of socks, synthetic/wool/ mix, didn't matter still got rub on the heel when summiting mountains on hikes.

Great looking functional shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the shoes for scrambling into the local crags and forerunning/setting at my gym. They're pretty great, love the weight and boa system. They are surprisingly durable so far and I think they're some of the best looking approach shoes on the market.

I wanted to like these

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to like these shoes but they never stopped giving me blisters. I tried multiple times to break these in after each set of blisters healed and more blisters formed.
