You want your boy to have a better life than you. When you were a kid, you had to wrap yourself in a blanket and a shower curtain when it stormed. Well, The North Face Boys' Storm Runner Triclimate Jacket is the ideal three-season, 3-in-1 jacket system to do right by your boy.
He'll have an outer shell made with HyVent 2L, which is waterproof and breathable aterproof (which cannot be said of shower curtains), and blocks moisture even if he takes a spill on the ski hill or is bombarded with snowballs after school. The fixed hood, adjustable hook-and-loop wrist closures, drawcord system at hem, and the powder skirt ensure that the snow stays out when skiing. When the weather gets nasty and cold, your young skier can put on the liner jacket, which is zip-in and snap-in compatible, and the lightweight Heatseeker Aero insulation will keep him warm but not burdened by the heaviness. Either jacket (or both) works great off the hill as a school or play jacket, so he's set.
