Pockets for laptop accessories and the small stuff.

Your laptop power cord has managed to wrap itself around each and every item in your backpack. Multiple pockets (plus a power-cord-specific compartment) on The North Face Box Shot Backpack would love to relieve your frustration. The front of The North Face Box Shot has two large stash pockets with vertical zips so you don't have to excavate your entire backpack just to find keys or lip balm, a zippered bottom power-cord pocket holds your laptop accessories, and there's a stretch-woven accessory pocket on the shoulder strap. A laptop compartment in the main cabin secures a 17-inch ‘puter when you're headed to school or work.

great work pack

I use this bag for work. I'm a consultant and as such need to be a traveling office. And it works great for that purpose. I keep all my cables/cords/vpn tokens/id's/webcam etc... I have not used it yet for a day pack but without all that other crap I am confident that it would serve its purpose well. The fit is great and adjustable for different body stiles. Highly Recommended.

Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron with a 17.1 inch screen. My current laptop bag (is really for a 16 inch laptop) and it is quite snug - too snug. I want to purchase this bag if my laptop will fit with less trouble that what I am used to! Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

Responded on

It should fit but that one inch may be a little annoying!

would this bag have enough capacity for an SLR camera and some lens?

Responded on

definitely. 35 liters is pretty big -normally enough as an overnight or very large day pack, so your camera gear will definitely fit. do you plan on using lens cases? you might also look at Lowe's padded camera backpacks. very nice..

Good backpack

The box shot backpack is great. It is large and very useful for me to carry stuffs around the campus all the day. The compartment for laptop is great and fit my 14 inch laptop well. The large compartment can be used to put books. The third compartment is useful to put accessories like cell phones, calculators, keys and so on. The two front small pockets are good. I use one of them for office supplies and the other for small dinner box. It is a good choice for people who will carry a lot of things, especially students in campus. However, the height and width are quite good. It could be better if the depth of the backpack is one or two inches more.

Great for travel, laptop, hiking

Great all around bag--I bought it for my husband to travel around Japan for 2 weeks(as a carry on/day trip bag) and it worked great!
It holds a ton and really fits him well. The compartments are useful and plentiful. He loved it so much that he is now using it
for his work bag(for laptop and snacks and such) it is so versatile because it can expand or contract with the side straps.

Would def recommend!

I currently have a Swiss Army backpack, but it is tearing apart from the weight. I usually carry 2 large books (they are accounting books so they are bigger than typical textbooks) and a laptop, would this be a good pack for that much stuff?

Best Answer Responded on

Hi Casey - I think this pack is great and would serve you well- however you might want to check out The Surge and the On Site packs (also North Face)- they have dedicated laptop sleeves that you can access without going into the main compartment of the pack. I find this way more convenient if you access your laptop often or when traveling (airport etc.) They all work great, but I really like the dedicated laptop access-
Hope this helps

Box Shot Backpack

This is my first North Face Backpack that I have purchased. One thing i love about this backpack is very comfortable with adjustable everything and comes with many compartments. As for the built in laptop sleeve it has protection on the bottom and both sides. It has lots lots of room for all your school supplies and more. This is an awesome backpack and worth the every cent of it.

Awsome

This is a great bag. I originally purchased it for my laptop. I was a little hesitant when i saw the price, but then i quickly realized that i spent almost two thousand on the laptop. The laptop compartment is heavily padded and my 16 inch Hp fits perfectly inside. I have found myself using this bag everyday. The bag can fit a bunch of stuff and can also be kept smaller by tightening two straps on the side of the bag. I have had this bag for a couple of months and it seams very durable. The zippered compartments are excellent for keeping things separated and the zippers are larger and look like they will not wear out or break. The people at North Face created a aesthetically pleasing backpack that definitely gets the job done!

I want a backpack that can take a beating. ie, white water rafting, hiking, rock climbing. Is this the backpack i want?

Responded on

Hi Linda with out question this pack will take any kind of beating you through at it because it is built out of great materials and built well. However for the type of activities you listed you will be using your pack for there maybe better pack options like the Fulcrum 35, Solaris 35, Pivot 22 and the Base Camp Hot Shot.

My question is how big is this the laptop compartment of the Box Shot Backpack backpack.
I am asking you this question because my laptop it's an 18,4 inch HP hdx, so being an 16:9 ratio means it's wider than a 17 inches one but I belive it has the same width. These informations are very important for me if anybody can help me pls. Thank you.

how water proof/resistant is it?

Responded on

Both of the primary fabrics used to build this pack have a DWR finish but none of the seams are taped and obviously there are a lot of zippers. In turn I would say this pack is water resistant at best.

excellent!

This bag is used mainly for school and my computer, but I have used it for my weekends in the Army and many other things. I would suggest it as a great bag for anyone wanting to carry a lot of stuff.

It is very comfortable and seems to be well-designed ergonomically.

I'd buy another one if I had the need.

What is the Bottom Power-cord Pocket do ? is this for an mp3 player or is it simply a spot to stash the AC cable for the laptop ?

Best Answer Responded on

You can't figure out what the power cord pocket is for? It's a pocket to put the power cord in.
