Run light, fast, and deep in the backcountry with the Tecnica Cochise Pro Light Alpine Touring Boot. With the same stiff, high-performance characteristics as the other members of the Cochise family, the Cochise Pro Light gives you swiftness for your ascent and stiffness for your descent, all in a package that weighs just 3.5lbs per boot.
The Cochise Pro Light looks a lot like a pure alpine boot, and it has a lot in common with its more downhill oriented brothers the Cochise 120 and 130, but it's far more capable on the skin track than either. Tecnica redesigned the Cuff Mobility System ski/hike mode to give you more ankle articulation and an easier stride, hooked up a stiff 120 flex to let you shred big faces and tight couloirs, and built the shell from ultra lightweight Triax 2.0 plastic, giving the Cochise Pro a sitff and consistent flex in all temperature. The sole is interchangeable, so you can switch out the included AT/tech sole for a pure alpine DIN sole if you're hitting the resort, and the three wire-bail buckles are light, micro-adjustable, and positioned to provide support for shredding and freedom for striding.
The guts of the Cochise are different, too. It comes with an ultralight Palau thermo-moldable liner for a fully customizable fit, and the new lower shell is built on a 100mm last for more comfortable touring without sacrificing downhill performance. The Quick Instep system uses a flexible overlap design that gives the Cochise an extra-wide opening for easy entry and exit, and there's a shock-absorbing heel built in to take the sting out of hard snow and big drops, so you don't have to dial down the radness just because you're in a lightweight, touring-ready boot.
