Simon Anderson, the surfer who found out that three fins are better than two, says that the Surftech Early Bird Surfboard is his favorite. If that doesn't convince you to ride this shortboard, then its performance will. Ride this board in small to mid-size waves, and you'll immediately be surprised at how friendly the Early Bird feels for a shortboard. That's because Simon widened the center, making the Early Bird more suitable for surfers who want more stability than the standard snappiness of traditional surfboards. Simon also designed the Early Bird with a slightly wider nose at a lower entry, a smooth rocker, and a slight V at the round square tail, resulting in a lot of speed over smaller waves. Since Simon wanted a new favorite, he constructed the Early Bird with a unique TL Pro Carbon construction, featuring a hand-tuned EPS core, fiberglass T-stringers, engineered HD foam, internal and external laminates, carbon flex panels, and a hot coat hand-finish.
