Don the Stoic Windpro Beanie for those particularly cold, blustery days in late fall or winter. Sure, you could pull on a wool hat, but the air will go right through that thing and rob you of your warmth. Windpro fabric helps you keep your heat and shrug off the cold air.

A Wind Block That Really Works

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Finally, a wind hat that really works. The wind was blocked, the snow skittered off it and warmth was maintained recently on an outing with blowing snow and temps of 20*F. The fit is nice and stretchy leaving no gaps around the forehead and covers the ears too. It is thick enough to be a standalone unit for warmth in moderate winter conditions. But best of all, a strong wind left no numb spots on my noggin while wearing this spiffy little, lightweight ice blocker. It is not expensive but great for middling winter temps say 0*F-20*F and for strong winds. I am thinking it will be great for summertime above timberline windy conditions in Interior Alaska also while not taking up heaps of room in the pack getting there. This Stoic windblock hat is surely a great find and in you spend anytime outdoors, this is a little known secret that should become well known as it performs spectacularly in every function of cold, wind and packing scenarios known to man. Not only that, the price is way less than many big name units that do not perform as well.

Thicker than expected

I was looking for a helmet liner and tried this on at the retail shop. Much thicker than the Stoic merino comp, certainly intended to be used as a stand alone beanie. The windpro is not as goofy looking either.

OK hat

Been wearing it for moderately cool days. 10 to 25 and it is plenty to keep me warm

For Normal Size Heads

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this for my brother who is living in the cold state of Michigan. I tried it on before I sent it to him and it was too big for my tiny head. It felt like it would be an awesome beanie if my head fit in it right. I wish it came in different sizes.

Great Hat

Fits very nice. I have a bigger head and it fits great, tight enough but not falling off my dome, great fit. Thin and warm. Great minimalist hat.
