    Bigger is better.

Smith's been leading the way in the eyewear game for years, and has stepped up once again to deliver with the I/O 7 interchangeable-lens goggles. Taking the pioneering rimless design of the I/O to the next level, the I/O 7 uses a Single-Pivot Quick-Release lens-change system to make switching out your lenses even simpler, while at the same time making the frame lighter and more comfortable. The dual-axis outrigger system and three-layer DriWix foam conform to your face without pinching, and the ultra-wide silicone-backed strap sticks to your helmet like gum to the bottom of your shoe. Smith also designed the I/O 7 with an AirEvac system that interfaces with your helmet to help circulate air, reducing fogging on those sticky, swampy days.

Of course, you can't talk Smith without bringing up top-shelf optical quality, which the I/O 7 delivers in spades. The spherical Carbonic-X polycarbonate lens is designed using TLT optics, which mirror the shape of your eyes to provide precise, crystal-clear vision in all conditions, and features a mess of fog-preventing tech to keep you seeing clearly: the dual Vaporator lens technology is finished off with a Porex filter that sucks moisture from between the inner and outer layer, and is treated with a 5X anti-fog coating to prevent moisture build-up. You'd expect Smith to throw down the most precise, technologically advanced eyewear out there, and the I/O 7 certainly doesn't disappoint.

    Favorite Pair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my second season with these goggles and I love them. They have a smaller fit than the IOX which is perfect for me. I got the Blackout version with the red sensor mirror lens and that sensor mirror lens is great for lower light conditions. It is super easy to change out the lenses and takes around 30 seconds to get it done. If you are looking for a medium frame goggle then check this one out for sure!

    Great goggles, performance unmatched

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used these goggles over the 2015 season. I since have used the Anon M3 which I have liked more because of the magnets. However I still think this goggle is great and performs well. Smith has a great reputation for creating a fog free ski day. The system of changing out the lens is great and secure, though you would need to take off your gloves and goggles to do so. Overall a great goggle. But I think that it comes in second to the Anon magnet system for interchangeable lenses.

    Great goggles, performance unmatched

    Great Fit

Smith has perfected the goggle fit. I use the Red Sensor lens in the I/O 7 s almost everyday. They have a greenish tint when you look through them and they are mirrored from the outside. The optics in my Smith Sunglasses are way better than these new goggles though. In the future, hopefully Smith can integrate the high quality optics from their sunglasses into their goggles.
Great face fit and helmet integration.

      Great Fit

      Great (big) Goggles

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wanted a large frame pair of goggles to fill out my helmet and these are perfect. It's really easy to switch between the high and low light lenses and the two provided have covered all light conditions I have encountered. The sticky strap hugs the helmet perfectly and neither lens has shown any fog yet. I love everything about them. The only drawback I see is that these might look a little large if you were wearing them with a beanie and not a helmet.

      Love Em

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Smith goggles are just so far above all other products. With them coming with light and dark lenses that can be changed in the matter of seconds. Its absolutely the best set up you can buy in optical wear. Company is awesome to deal with and they NEVER FOG. Cannot get enough of these goggles or lenses. Keep up the good work smith.

      The Choice is Clear

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles were built off the classic IO. Therefore, they are pretty rad. The lenses change with little effort and provide adaptability in the mountains. The wide range of vision is a huge factor in making these goggles great!

      Poor lens retention

The lens retention is not robust at the top. Has slipped out a few times while pulling off and on helmet in just the first week of use. In need of a redesign. Called Smith about this issue and they state they have not heard of it. Honestly suprised with the stellar reviews on this goggle.

        Solid

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The I/O7 is a solid goggle in my book. The spherical lens technology is noticeably better than your standard flat-profile goggle, and with a high- and low-light lens option that takes 3 seconds to swap out, you won't be missing turns over poor visibility any longer. Goggles integrate well with my Giro, Smith and Burton helmets - the strap is very sticky and works well outside the helmet. The anti-fog is great, but with the double lens system you will always need to fully dry your goggle each night, or else suffer from "in-between the lens fog" that is near impossible to ditch and always comes served cold, with a hangover, on a powder day.
Versus the Smith Vice - this goggle feels a little bit larger and are easier to swap lenses on - but over all quite similar with the addition of an extra lens free with the I/O7

        Best goggles out there!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are by far my favorite goggles. The fit is amazing, they look sick, and changing lenses is a breeze. Not to mention the lenses that are included are all you need. I use one for low light days and the other for blue bird days. Get these...you'll be stoked on your purchase.

        Best goggles out there!

        I/O 7s are the best!!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I personally love my I/O7's, they fit great and give the maximum amount of visibility. The best feature about these are the locking device for the lens replacement making the process simple and fast. Honestly it is so easy I change out my lenses on the chair lift. As well these sit supper comfy on the face and they come with two lenses for both high/low light days giving you the ability to have great vision no matter the light. After using these for a year now I can honestly say these are the only goggles I will buy, and with smiths warranty policy you know be taken care of for life.

        Great goggles!!!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used these on a ski trip in Aspen over the weekend and they were fantastic!!! Great clarity, very comfortable and the extra lens came in handy. The first day was bright sunny day and the dark lens worked perfectly. The second and third days we were hit with blizzard like conditions and flat light, and the goggles performed admirably. These goggles also look amazing!!!

Despite loving these, the one thing I didn't love was figuring out how to change the lens without getting finger prints on the lens. Although not difficult, getting the nose to clip in properly took a bit longer than I would have liked. This may be attributable to being the first time I changed the lenses.

        Amazing gogs

I love these goggles, I got these and have never worn any other goggles that I could compare them to. They fit really well on my face and they fit perfectly with the helmet I have. I did end up getting the Smith Vantage helmet (which I also love) and they go really well together. These goggles allow you to have great peripheral vision and you will feel like you can see all around you when riding with these on. Definitely would recommend getting these with a dark and a light lens. That way you can have one for sunny days and then one for days where it is a little darker.

          My favorite Goggles!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my second pair of Smith I/Os. It integrates very well with my Smith helmet. I also love the visibility and clarity. It doesn't hurt that they give you a spare lens neither. I'll keep buying Smith goggles until the day i die!

          Best goggles out there!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles were a game changer for me. I have a medium-sized face and the fit on these is perfect. In fact, I've never a had a pair fit so well. Additionally, changing the lenses are super easy...it takes less than a minute. Get these...you won't be disappointed!

          Pretty fantastic

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just picked up these goggles and love them. They have such a wide view and the actuating outriggers are awesome for that seamless integration with my smith helmet. I got a blackout lens and a red sensor mirror lens with these and really enjoy the blackout for those bluebird days. I don't really enjoy the red sensor lens very much since I am red/green color blind, so the lens makes everything hard to see. I prefer the blue sensor mirror lens for those low light days, it's a much better lens. Nevertheless these goggles are super comfy and give me such a wide range of view I can see everything. My only complaint with the design of the goggle is when changing the lens, getting the nose piece clips in is a royal pain and takes way too much effort.

          I/O sets a high standard, but a high $$

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like a lot of things about the 7. The dual lens system is great. The frame feels pretty large on my face, and I don't think I have a tiny face. But at least there's no gaper gap. I have the Smith Variant helmet, which seems to work well with the goggles except the helmet piece which fastens over the goggle strap seems to hit the goggle strap right at the plastic connector, so it's not always easy to lock down. Also, I was surprised that the goggle strap is pretty tight--I have it fully extended when stretched around my medium helmet and it's tight, so I wonder if a L or XL helmet would stretch it to an uncomfortable point? Lastly, I don't think I would pay full price for these, $180-200 is a bit steep to me when there are so many other options. I got mine on a good sale, and I'm happy I have them. I just hope they last many seasons to make the cost worth it!

**one edit** the low light lens fogs up fairly easily; the best way to fix this is to completely remove the lens from the frame, but who wants to do that when you're already skiing? I have 2 friends who noticed the same thing about their low light lenses, not sure why.

Could you comment on the lens' visibility and contrast? I can't see bumps on slopes, so I'm looking for a new pair. I know Oakley has Prizm that's supposed to better than its normal lens.

          Hey Waiwai,

The trick to seeing the bumps is in the lens that you select for the conditions that you are in.

I love the (low light) that comes with the I/O 7 from Smith. Both the Red Sensor Mirror and the Blue Sensor Mirror are great for when the conditions get tricky. Highly recommended.

if you have any other questions feel free to give me a call at 1-800-409-4502 ext. 4665

Which two lenses come with these goggles? I want to be sure we have one for flat light and one for sunny days.

I just received IO7 goggles. It didn't come with case. No goggle case? Is that right?

          Hey TAEK GEUN C.,

They I/O 7 Goggles no longer include a case, that is correct. You can buy the Smith Molded Goggle Lens Case (Item # SMI00CG) or Smith Goggle Case (Item # SMI00CF) separately. I would recommend the Lens Case. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

I have a medium face. I am wondering which Smith goggle can fit perfectly while i am using my glasses Io7 or Iox. I think IOx is huge for my face.

What's up with the bonus lens? Is it basically the same exact lens or a different one?

          Best Answer

So they give you one low light and one bright day lens. Its actually pretty awesome, the goggles look a little pricey at first but, you get the full gamma of sun exposure covered! When you look at the actual goggles in the drop down menu you will see:

"Black/Ignitor Mirror/Red Sensor Mirror, One Size"

The "black" designates the frame color. "Ignitor Mirror" indicates color that goggle will be set up with on delivery. "Red Sensor Mirror" indicates the extra lens that is in the package. So its always frame color; lens that is in goggle; lens that is included in the package but, not set up in the frame.

Will these goggles fit over my eyeglasses? I currently have a pair of I/OX and that one fits perfectly.
